Is it Time We Made The Ashes Like The Ryder Cup?

The Ashes in Australia has become the cricketing equivalent of England v Scotland at football - all hype but not a contest at all. No wins in 15 or 16 tests 😱.

Is it time to replace the Ashes down under with Australia versus a combined England/India Xl to make it competitive? 🤔

With all due respect.. naff off ;) 🎣
🤣
there are no words

Well there are

As @GordonMuchallNo1Fan may say, but I’ll paraphrase

DEAR f***ing ME
What's the answer though?

My Ryder Cup suggestion was tongue in cheek - but do you disagree that it's now become the equivalent of us playing the Jocks at footy? All hype on their part... but not a legitimate contest.

How are we ever going to make it competitive again down there? 🤔

Play them here in December and January - see how they like it.

Or more Eton, Cambridge or Oxford chaps. Oh and a few chaps from the Foreign Office (overseas experience)

The Ashes in Australia is only useful for giving the Australian public a good laugh every 4 years.

It is quite amusing we insist on playing 5 test series away in India and especially Australia and we’re not competitive in either!

In Australia isn’t that 6 of the last 7 series that we’ve lost the first 3 tests and therefore the series? That’s unbelievably bad!
