ID checks for away tickets

Let’s assume that technology isn’t an issue (not true for the moment)

Is the fairest outcome

- all supporters can transfer away tickets to friends and family twice a season, the recipient gets the point (means the original buyer doesn’t get the point if they don’t go)
- if someone can’t do this, they place on a waiting list that closes 3 hours before kick off and anyone registered can take it up if they’re near the ground. They get the loyalty point as above

Also think that the Brentford system for home games has some merit. If you list your ticket and it sells then you get half the value and the club get the other half. If you don’t turn up X times a season without listing it (listing, not selling) then you get a yellow card.

The intent has to be to get those who deserve it in, whilst being fair. And also ensuring no empty seats

This tech exists for gig tickets, I’m amazed it’s that hard

We already have that system in place for home games? Sure it’s 75% of games or lose your season ticket:
Away games so you wanting people to still travel down the country with out tickets hoping people place them on the list? 🤦🧐

1) it’s not implemented is it?
2) no, but people will. Or people will live nearby. 3 hours gets you a lot of places. Make it 5 and you fill the seat anywhere in the country

So where we are is

1. The club needs a massive crackdown on tickets being sold by third parties. Suggest the club buy the tickets themselves to identify the source and severely sanction the offender.

2. The club need to provide a legitimate way for people to transfer a limited number of tickets per season to friends and family so that the recipient receives the point.

The world of football, and in this particular case tickets for games and collectively loyalty points, has gone bonkers.
Gone are the days when you could just decide at short notice to go to away games, loyalty points had never been heard of, in many/most cases you didn’t even need a ticket so the passing on element didn’t even exist.
How things have changed.

Far as I know it is implemented mate, was part of the t and c that come out start of season, people were moaning then how were they going to expect kids to sit in the winter night games etc

They made it for kids only, and then rescinded it I think. Or made it day games only.

And it’s not linked to attempted resale as far as I can tell.

It’s illegal to dispose of a ticket even for free.

I've said it before many time I simply do not understand why the club don't just get some staff members to create some fake accounts and buy up the tickets on facebook and other reselling sites and then find the source and ban them. Cancel the Season Card of whoever is selling them and resell it to a fan on the waiting list to cover the cost of the whole exercise. Publish the names of those banned on the website to deter others. My mate who gets on here has just finished Chemo. He could not attend games as he either wasn't physically well enough, or his immune system was not sufficiently strong to take the risk. There can be numerous valid reasons why people cannot make home games.

I think the lad is talking about exceptional cases so they’d be very few.

Say someone missed a train down to London for a match, they’d be loads down here who’d take it up at short notice and make sure there wasn’t an empty seat.

This will, imo, become more widespread as the 'closed shop brigade' get louder.

The amount of people trying to sell on tickets for Brighton on Facebook etc only highlights the issue and it's unfair on fans on lower points who are trying to get to tickets to the game.

How were they refused entry? If theres loads selling them now for games, most people must be getting in fine with another person's ticket.

If you're selected for an ID check and you can't provide ID in the name of the ticket holder who purchased the ticket the ticket is not given and the ticket remains declined.

I thought that had only been done for Man City. Or that was the crack said on here.
