Australia v England, 3rd Test, 16th December , 23.30

Umpire didn't appear to give it out on field.

Aussies didn't review it.

We didn't review it (why would we if it's not given out?).

Somehow it gets sent upstairs.

No-one is even mentioning any of that on my Kayo commentary.

The umpires finger did not go up, he seemingly sent it upstairs to check if it carried but with no on-field soft signal of out. He then got the full review treatment without DRS being asked for.

It’s a shambles without the technology being totally cack.
I was still half asleep but did we ever hear the audio from the TV umpire?

Yes. And he was talking absolute nonsense. There was, to my eyes anyway, a gap between bat and ball and certainly nowhere near definitive enough evidence to say he’d definitely hit it.

just put the tele on for the first time today... same old, same old then

Yes and no.

Poor with the ball this morning again. Lengths all over the place and they cashed in.

But Australia have bowled exceptionally well without too many gifted wickets here. Pope and Smith played poor shots but Smith didn’t hit his.

They’re just miles better than us sadly

Tbf this proves why the bazball came in, the lads mostly dont have the technical ability to bat properly

It was what we needed for the first two years.

But the last 18 months has been one poor selection after another, Bethell could have been inspired but they let him go IPL then didn't select him.

That’s the presence of the keeper and nagging line and length. It’s superb cricket from Australia. They’re absolutely all over us.
Carey has been superb and this highlights what was annoying me with Smith in their innings and the last test. Smith never came upto the stumps to put some pressure on the batters.
