Omar Alderete 🇵🇾 Signed!

Interesting he isn't winning many aerial battles though, something to be concerned about?
He's right at the bottom of the pack for % of aerials won, with only 45%

I think if you're partnered next to a better header (Ballard or Mukiele) then it's ok. Alderete is also clearly excellent at carrying and passing the ball out, as we saw a lot against Forest and an assist already in the opener. He also nudged Wood out of the way of at least one against Forest, which won't count as an aerial duel but he clearly won it by nudging Wood and then leaving the ball to Mukiele

It's worth noting that the stat in that image is total won (as in volume) not %. Dan Burn, who is clearly good in the air, has an excellent total for wins but is one of the worst for losses. I suppose that means he basically challenges for every single header that he can, and others mop up around him. Meaning he wins loads but also loses a high volume as well

He's the covering centre half, Ballard attacks the balls into the box. He looks for runs and challenges for second balls. He's playing the O9 role which includes distribution.
Not many centre backs in the league can play that ball he did to Isidor. He started a bit shaky then you could almost see it click in his head that 'these are shite' and just started bullying them and spraying passes about

Agreed. He's class, an integral part of one of the best back fours in the division. Our full backs aren't too shabby either. ;)

Just another class signing who I dint think i have seen have a bad game for us yet
I would say yesterday was his worst game, he was a bit loose with the ball a few times. He was still solid like, been an incredible signing. Good ball to Isidor that got him into a shooting position.
He's nigh on 29, here's hoping we're likely to see him over his golden years.
Aye, would have to be a good offer for us to let him leave too.

First few minutes the occasion got to him, he made a couple of sloppy passes. Then he must have thought to himself "these fuckers are shite". After that he had very good game. Hope he stays here for a while.

He’s a classy footballer and his first thought when he gets the ball is to try and play it forward. He isn’t just smooth with the ball he’s a defender first and foremost and loves defending aswell. He struggled first half on Sunday and it could of been costly but he cruised through the second half
