They all look quite out of shape don't they? Little paunches and flabby arms, not a six pack among them beyond Archer and Stokes. I could pick out 11 lads in better shape than that on a moderately busy night at my local leisure centre's gym (not me like, I've got a belly like Brooky!)
No wonder they look knackered after a two day test.

Vaughan played in only three live test matches in Australia. England lost by 384 runs, an innings and an innings. Piece of cake from the press box though.
(To be fair his personal performances were good that series, but the team was marmalised, so a bit more perspective might be in order.)

When you listen to Vaughan you'd think he averaged 99.99 in his career, with a captaincy win rate of 100%.
Brilliant captain, excellent batsman, first class bell end behind the microphone.

Not sure what you mean by 3 live tests but he played the full 2002/03 series, scored over 600 runs, was around in 2006/07 in the background during that debacle and commentates over there every Australian summer. I don't think he's a badly qualified judge tbh, as I would have him down as the best England captain of his generation.

It's easy from a message board as well, but Vaughan has earned his right to an opinion more than most. He was the first captain to win an Ashes for almost 20 years and led a team with oodles of talent brilliantly. The 2002-3 series was a team in transition and he was man of the series. Incidentally they played nine tour matches outside of the tests!
Yes he's been a bit a bellend behind the mike at times but he rarely makes a bad point.
Vaughan was voted man of the series and was generally regarded as an astute captain and that Aussie side was much superior to their present outfit. The Bazbal lot hardly deserve any sympathy because of their undisciplined batting and bowling and apparent refusal to recognise their deficiencies.
Vaughan has conceded that Aussie ashes series are very challenging.
Wholly justifiable criticism imo.

The team were marmalised by arguably the greatest Test team to have played the game and at their very peak. Vaughan registered three tons and looked a million dollars against McGrath, Lee, Warne, Gillespie and (iirc) Bichel.
I’ve not much love for him, but he’s certainly earned his stripes to pass comment.
I’m also with him on the view that Stokes should bat at 3.
I have just found out, article in Times, that we don’t practice run outs anymore
