Brighton fan in peace

What a lovely post
Thank you.
Sounds light that rail service is lightyears ahead of the shitshow we endure every game (Northern).
I wouldn't go that far. I've always foudn your Metro to be very good.

Southern are notoriously sh*t. I wantt to be clear that the queue before and after the game can take a while, so make sure you have enough time. After the game you can be waiting anything from 20-40 minutes for a train.
Lovely post. Ive a great customer from down there who’s a ST holder.
Thank you.
Ruined my think 40th birthday party

Bird lined up if we won was at wthdeaden n

stadium then

Beat us 2-1

Arca hit the post
Yes, and we only had ten men ...
I have a question 🙋🏻‍♂️

Why, when the football stadium has its own dedicated railway station, is the station named ‘Falmer’ instead of being named after the ground?
Falmer used to be a tiny village on the outskirts of Brighton and on the way to the town of Lewes and there has been a railiway station there for 100+ years. It has now been totally subsumed by two Universities and more development alongside the stadium.

Went to a match at Brighton's old ground under McCarthy.

Our 'stand' was one of those temporary roll stands like you get at the tennis.

Had a a pub in the main stand though. Was decent.

We were dreadful. Got beat 2-1. Thornton scored.

Is the new fan zone not avaliable for away fans? I'm going with a Brighton couple from Lynn and that's where e've arranged to go and meet afterwards

FTM I guess?
Metro covers sland n newc mate.

The train system from Hartlepool/Teesside is abysmal.

Staying down Friday and Saturday where’s the best places to go, first time visitor to Brighton.

Whats the crack with the fan zone after the match does it get busy? Was thinking of heading in there to let the train queue die down

How long will waiting for the train take?
20-40 minutes.

Yes, of course, this completely went out of my mind. It's called The Terrace.

It is at the ground and good, but 1/ It gets very busy and will take ages for a beer, and 2/ If the weather is bad before the game, you're fkd if you are not inside.

It's very modern football vibes. The best I can equate it to it The Stack at Seaburn.

Yes, use the fan zone after the game. It's still so new that I forgot about it! I would have a beer either in the concourse after the game (they stay open) and then a drink at the Terrace (fan zone) to let the queue die down.

Hi
We are on a 6.15 train back to london, in the American Express suite, will we need to leave literally after the game to catch our train, or will we have time for a quick one after the game, your thoughts would be appreciated

Firstly, good luck on Sunday. I’m sure most of the footballing world would be delighted if you can secure all three points. You’ve been a breath of fresh air since being promoted.

I’m also completely biased as I’m married to a Mackem and was delighted when you got promoted in May.

Anyway, Brighton STH very much in peace, looking ahead to our fixture next Saturday at the AMEX.

Happy to answer any questions about your upcoming visit.

It’s only your second visit to our ‘new’ home. Your first was in the League Cup way back in 2011 when you were only the fourth side to come and visit. It’s also the first time we’ll have played each other in the league since 2005. That fixture was at the Withdean in the season you won the Championship. The last time we hosted you before that was in 1992. There can’t have been many fixtures where the last three league meetings have been at three different home grounds!

Brighton, as many of you will know is a fantastic city with lots of places to eat and drink whilst enjoying a long weekend. Unfortunately, with the stadium being where it is (not in the city centre, another long story), places close to the ground are limited.

Your best best is to drink in Brighton (or alternatively Lewes) and then utilise the free travel that is included your match ticket. The stadium has a dedicated railway station - Falmer - train travel is free on matchdays to and from Brighton (and other nearby stations).

The only place to drink around the ground that welcomes away fans is Sussex University’s student bar (it is very good). It’s not in the city but a 10 minute walk to the ground.

The city itself is full of amazing pubs with something for everything but just allow enough time to get the train to the ground if you do this.

I’ll revert back to this thread with some suggestions of pubs but very happy to answer any questions you may have in the meantime about travel etc.

HTL.

Which park and ride is the better option?

Yes, you should be fine for the 17:36 from falmer (arrives into Brighton at 17:44) or the 17:49 (17:59)
Which park and ride is the better option?
Mill Road. It's the closest to the A23 and the biggest. It's full about 90 minutes before kick off.

There was a train station literally immediately behind the paddock stand at Hull City's old Boothferry Park ground (I think it was the first match of the season which we lost 3-0 when the football special train I was on stopped there).
