Australia v England, 2nd Test, 4th December 0400

Hard to take any positives from any of this match; with the possibile exception of Joe Root’s 138.
The rest have been mostly garbage.
Root getting a 100 in OZ is 1 of two things I at least wanted to happen this series.

Why does it take absolute and complete disaster for these clowns to change it up? Good players and coaches react on the fly, in-game, to changing situations, conditions and bowling. A gameplan should be constantly evolving to reflect change. It’s no good changing things at the arse-end of a second humping. This is a consistent failing of this set-up. It stems from the arrogant mantra that their way is the only way.

Stokes looks beaten already...chucked his tools in.
I'm a huge Stokes fan everyone on here knows that, however his comments after the first test were arrogant and totally wrong. He's spoken well here but it's what everyone said a while ago and maybe the penny has dropped and be realises this isn't the right approach. I'll never criticise his effort and commitment he's crackers at times pushing himself, but as captain he needs to be having strong words with some of them and they need to sit down and change this kamikazee approach to 5 days cricket because it's appalling.

The series isn't gone yet like, but this would be as good as any ashes win if they turn this around.
I'd take a 3-1 or 3-2 provided we go toe to toe with them, just want a competitive series/matches.

The silly thing is that we have been competitive in both matches and had chances in both.

1st test we batted like idiots but the bowlers gave us a chance only for us to bat like idiots again, then the bowlers got destroyed by Head.

This test we got a par score or a little under by 50 or so runs, gave them 100 runs in dropped catches and bowled garbage. But still in the test at the end of day 2, blew it with odd tactics and bowling yesterday then batted like idiot again.
65 run lead but the pitch was excellent test wicket that 250 could have been a winnable total.
Prior saying the same about Stokes that you can see in his interview

He might have been saying different things in private or he might have just been trying to inflate the players tyres and get them to express themselves. Not trying to demoralise them so early on a long tour.

He's changed his tune now and rightly so, can't afford to lose another test

Stokes should have been saying this 10 days ago. He's absolutely spot on mind but damage is done and they were warned about this after the first test. Massively reality check this but the warning signs were clear and this lot decided to arrogantly ignore it. Stokes is a fantastic cricketer and a crazy competitor, however he needs to stop "being nice" and just call it out and make tough decisions for example dropping certain players. Big calls needed

Can't wait to hear Baz's interview
Will send Trescothick out.

You'd think they were the West Indies team of the 1980s with their self confidence coming into this series but they've achieved nowt other than bullying a few poor weaker test teams. I could set up a test team to beat bazball because you know exactly what the plan is.
