Luke O'Nien

It wasn’t as bad as that. I do think oniens was a red card but Gvardiols wasn’t even reviewed when it should have been.
That’s what happens in this league. Loads of times in games when our players get fouled on the turn ( mind a few do go down too easy) they get nothing. City, Liverpool, Arsenal all get these given regularly.

I don’t think we’ve been hard done by in general but I can’t understand why that tackle wasn’t reviewed if oniens was. It looked worse.

Poor pass from Le Fee and he was trying to get the ball and was far too late, nowt malicious about it and always one of those challenges that the ref generally just gives a yellow for and looks worse on slow motion replays.

I don’t ever want to see him in a Sunderland shirt again- not because he is unlucky to catch the man today- it’s not as bad as gvardiol really as it’s on his blindside.

But because he’s just not good enough! Been a brilliant servant but as with Dan Neil on other thread he’s been outgrown by the clubs rise

Love the bloke but that was absolutely shocking, definitely a red and ridiculous tackle to make. One of the few chances he will get this year and he does that. 3 game suspension at a time in the season he would have his best chance of getting minutes (during AFCON).

That could be his premier League career over before it even starts cos we will strengthen further in January.

Lads a legend but will never be a premier league player in a million years. I'd love to keep him around the dressing room, possibly even as a coach. But on the pitch he has very little to offer us now.
