Australia v England, 2nd Test, 4th December 0400

Haway ffs

It's been a bouncy as fuck wicket and you're giving the player that plays at everything grief for the first ball all match to stay low.

In the same way as the England lads don't need to play at everything. You don't need to come for them for everything that happens.
Footwork was non existent. I'm not suggesting he whacks it out the park.

Played better than anyone in Perth. Scored 79 across 2 innings. I agree he’s at risk in general, but people forget just last week
His 2nd innings was a flukey 33 and his 1st was a typical Pope getting out when set loss of concentration.

All the talent, all the runs in County but only Crawley has been given more chances for less returns as an England player that I can remember

Aye he's cemented to the crease a bit like his batting coach was as a fellow England left handed opener. It's a technique that has worked for other batsman too.

I won't blame him when one that keeps low out of nowhere. Even if at times it gets him trouble.

They need to watch for it as that was another to skid on a bit low there on Pope.

Hick, Ramprakash, Butcher. Hussain and Lamb averaged only a tiny bit higher

The loss of concentration I disagree with, he heads to either get out early or go big. Hence 9 test tons

I mean there’s not much you can do if it keeps low on the stumps like

Nasser was captain and the others didn't play 60+ tests.
Ramps is as close a comparison to Pope as you'll get.

Hick (had Athers not declared him 99*) might have kicked on a bit
Just put it on. How did Starc get 77??
New ball, field spread let him get a single off 4th ball for around 90 minutes
