Australia v England, 2nd Test, 4th December 0400

I’m not into cricket very much tbh but why are England so bad with the pink ball? Saw a stat wigh Atherton earlier and it was something like we’ve never one with it? Is that reet?

(Only) played seven, won two. But three of those defeats against Australia, who are superb with it. Six of those seven away from England too.

Pink ball isn't really the issue. It's the conditions under which it is used more so. And we've played with it a lot less than the Aussies.

I’m just relieved they haven’t brought Bashir in, because he’s not international standard. I’d still have dropped Crawley but we all know that isn’t going to happen.

As for Khawaja, it’ll be interesting to see what they do. Head clearly batted magnificently in their second innings in Perth, but from an England perspective, I’d rather he opened than came in at 5.

Jacks for Wood is now confirmed as the only change.
That's the end of Bashirs international career then. We've carried him for the last 12 months with the Ashes in mind only to pick a hitter who bowls part time spin over him.
Not saying its not what I would have done but shows a massive missed opportunity to develop a spinner the past year.
Khawaja ruled out
Makes their team stronger, Head at the top, then an in form inglis or Webster who's performed with bat and ball for them lately to come in.
And Cummins not being ruled out of being selected
Australia now without 3 top players and they'll still probably win.
Cummins might play apparently
Incredible that we’ve persisted with Bashir for two years because the management thought he’d be a good pick for Australia and then when we get there they’re too scared to pick him.
He's looked awful all tour, apparently him and Jacks had effectively a bowl off to Stokes last night which reportedly Jacks clearly outbowled him.

If Jacks does get a big score mind, that's the option to replace Crawley without shuffling the rest if Crawley fails again.

McCullum and his continued crazy selections so they waste all that time with the sub standard Bashir.

To pick Jacks what to bat 8 and bowl part time spin did he even play a single red ball game last season.

Picking Overton in the 5th test v India cost us a series constantly picking a dreadful opener in Crawley sorry his time is done.
