Look like the new Leeds or Burnley from last season to me. Nothing more.

It's just heating up now, the bigger teams will all be there or there abouts at the end ... Fair play to Coventry for taking advantage of everyone else's poor start. We did similar last season but couldn't sustain itThe league is dreadful this year. Comosre the promotion challengers with what we had to contend with last season.
Unless the strategy was to get their defender to put mayenda clean through, and to get their keeper to let it an easy shot, then it wasn't a masterclass.Clearly you know nowt about game strategy. They had all the ball because we allowed them to. It was a masterclass on how to counter a team that has to play on the front foot. That’s how Frank sets his team up c that’s why they he will inevitably be relegated next season. RLB ( a much more adaptive coach ) on the other hand defeats opposition coaches by having different strategies to suit.
Adding up to an xg of 2 I would say is lots of half chancesLots of half chances...wtf. Define lots.Bet you believe SU had loads as well.
First people say it's nonsense that we conceded lots of half chances. Now you're saying it's natural that we conceded more chances because we were ahead in the tie!You don't understand how xG works if you use it to decide who deserved to win a two-legged tie.
Where it might be over a full season of football, it's not objective over a short-span of games (ie. one game, or a two legged fixture). The easiest example would be if a team goes 3-0 up inside 10 minutes, they might just not bother attacking anymore and instead hold on to a clean sheet. If the opposition attacks for 80+ minutes and still lose 3-0, they may have more xG without being the better team.
Against Coventry in the away game we had a gameplan to keep a clean sheet and catch them on the break. We conceded once and caught them twice. In the away leg we were leading the tie for 76 minutes - ofcourse they'll be attacking more, therefore resulting in a higher xG. xG doesn't work for what you're trying to make it work for.
No debate as to who was the better team. Coventry are and were then a good attacking team. But similar to what RLB has done in the prem, we forced you to play a game Coventry didn’t want to play. RLB is a master at that.A lot of comments get regularly churned out about who was the better side in the play offs but, as I said on here a few months ago, our outrageous form and goalscoring goes to show what an absolute masterclass is was by Sunderland and RLB in both legs.
We've scored 47 goals since we played in May. In just 17 games.
To further back the point, we've scored 25 goals in 9 away.
As both our seasons continue, it goes to show how much Sunderland deserved it.
We don’t spend that so why would they. They’d have to spend £300m to stay up
Because we already had a style of play suited to coming up that we added to. We also have a superb recruitment team that is unbelievable at securing bargains. We spent what £180m in all? They’d have to spend more than that.We don’t spend that so why would they.
You maybe right re the recruitment team. Think there’s a direct correlation between how many 20m plus players you buy and staying up. 6 or more and you’re almost guaranteed to stay up.Because we already had a style of play suited to coming up that we added to. We also have a superb recruitment team that is unbelievable at securing bargains. We spent what £180m in all? They’d have to spend more than that.
Six easy points for Grant and the lads next season.

It could have gone one of two ways for you lot. Give five what we did in 99 after getting beat in the play off final, retained the team and gone for in with confidence.
Be interesting to watch what strategy you adopt if you go up.

Honestly like, he's really not a good PL player. He's really inconsistent.
@LDNCCFC wat are your thoughts on Sakamoto. I think he's a good Championship winger, better than Patrick Roberts, but he flatters to deceive mainly. And he's too lightweight for the Prem.
In fact, (a question I've discussed with the other half recently) which of your current team do you think would do a job in the PL, and where do you need to strengthen? Personally, I love Grimes, but both of us think even he's not strong enough for the PL.
Unless the strategy was to get their defender to put mayenda clean through, and to get their keeper to let it an easy shot, then it wasn't a masterclass.
If those two things hadn't happened we would have lost the tie and you'd be blaming RLB.

Not sure why people hate to admit we got lucky. It's fine, it doesn't take away how good it was.
Because we didn’t get luckyNot sure why people hate to admit we got lucky. It's fine, it doesn't take away how good it was.
This! It's always good mixing things up. First time I've been impressed with Lampard as a manager too.I don’t particularly like the club but fair play and it’d make the prem league a bit more interesting with different teams.
We played them over two games. We scored more than them. We didn’t get lucky at allBecause we didn’t get lucky
He’s also 29/30He’s inconsistent. He’s better than Roberts but only just.
Frank is doing a great job.
