Forthcoming gigs.

Anyone at Lambrini Girls tonight, at the Boiler Shop?

I like them, loved the album, but a minging little performance pandering to the Mags (toon-toon cvnts) - so much for supporting the LGBTQ+ folk 🙄

Walked out before the encore. Really dislike gigs in Newcastle now.
In what way?

Of all the bands in the world to mention football i would have put lambrini girls fairly near the bottom like
Shocked about this, seen them a few festivals and it's not their style at all

Saw Radiohead last night who were amazing as ever

Shows how little they understand the areas they are playing
Typified by “Hello Newcastle”

Ian McCullough of the bunnymen usually has a good dig at the mags which is acceptable

Im sorry like but if you're offended by a band playing Newcastle saying "hello Newcastle" that's a you problem ffs

She said it two or three times before the start of a song as she was trying to get the crowd going all the time. Walking out of a gig and disliking gigs in the city because of something that happened for 10-15 seconds in an hour long gig man  it’s really not that deep.

Will take a wild stab in the dark and guess she doesn’t know who owns the club and wouldn’t have done it if she did.

I think it was never a thing and now it's more and more and it's worth a discussion or a comment on bands pages I'd say .
Can't remember any gig I walked out of . I've left before encores before .

I think part of it is the reasonably unuique situation of the North East.

Of the major venues in this country, most either only have one team nearby of relevance (Leeds) or two or more big clubs from the same city (Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham, London, Liverpool) where you’d be daft to hype up one team.

Up here there are two big clubs, very close distance wise but separate cities.Unless the band is clued up, they’ve likely nee idea of the hatred between the sides. Ive seen plenty taken aback by the booing at Toon shite.

I’d also say, from travelling all over the country for gigs, Newcastle is pretty much the only one you hear any football stuff from the crowd.

Excellent

Aye. I mean, half the reason I was there was for the spectacle & energy. I like their songs, but little bits at a time. But I’m not used to the gigs I go to being that type of “event”.

Reminded me a little bit of the time I went to see Ordinary Boys just after Preston had come out of the big brother house. Let’s just say it was a different crowd & vibe to the gig I went to at the old Independent (or Bar 36) a year before!
Still goes down as the worst gig I've ever been to, absolutely terrible

Anyone got an idea when reverend and the makers will be on stage tonight
Nothing official, but someone on their facebook said 9pm for their last gig. I’d assume the same.

At the Academy on Westgate Road? Can’t remember it being bad, but remember seeing young teenage lasses come out of the mosh pit after the first song a little bit shaken

From what I remember it was alright, but I wouldn’t normally go to a gig full of a lot of teenage big brother fans.

I just remember thinking the whole gig was shite...saying that I don't think I particularly liked them so that won't have helped 😂
