Don't understand the offside rule...

Too complicated I'm not even bothering to try and understand it.Doubt whether anybody fully understands it.
Why don't they make things simple beautiful game fucked!!!

Would be much easier to just use the players feet.

Would still be marginal calls but at least it’ll stop all the carry on with measuring from the arm
Some on the problem is that people don't understand how the offside tech works but that's not helped by the Premier League explaining how it works so most understand it.

Yes it's marginal but that's the whole point as the margin of error is down to centimetres rather than yards the old way. There's no carry on and although it's never going to be precise to the nanometre, the computer will be far more consistent with the small margin of error.

After this weekend, it's clear very few know about the small advantage given to the attacker making a very marginal offside actually onside. We've also see decisions that tight that have been given offside and people complain. Now they've been given onside it's still not good enough so it's an impossible situation and moving the line will not fix it either.

What's amazing is that the media/pundits don't even know about the advantage as not one has pointed this out when it's been a close decision and it's their job to know this shit. That advantage is why the Villa and mags goals stood even though they were probably offside if you could freeze it perfectly. If they'd been given offside then the same would still be said about the offside so what can they do?

Usinsg the feet or the daylight rule won't work practically. For example you'd have attackers blocking defenders on free kicks by standing behind them but leaving a trailing leg to stay onside. It would also be even harder for linesman to call so decisions would end up going to VAR even more.

The line has to be somewhere and moving it won't cut down on offsides as there will always be close decisions no matter where the line is. There's never going to be a black and white with offside due to the margin of error.

As long as more of the margin of error goes in favour of the attacker then the better surely? Although it's an advantage. I still think it should be more of an advantage to an attacker with even thicker line. That's so more close calls go in favour of the attacker and more goals being allowed rather than ruled out. Just a shame it was the mags that benefitted from it recently as that would have been offside in Champions League as they don't have the advantage like the Premier League does.

The old joke about lasses not understanding the offside rule...now no one does
You’re queuing at the sales reet and you’ve dropped your purse…..

It’s rumoured that’s coming in to replace the other bollocks.
