Thing is, a lot of them people don't really care about footballThat's true, but even if you half it it's still way more than double the population of Sunderland. And a big chunk of Sunderland's population is Washington, Houghton etc which are mixed areas.
Yes we draw support from surrounding areas too, but so do they.
That shows how remarkable our support is really, but all I'm saying is having such a vast population to draw from does give them the potential to attract very big crowds if they get it right.
We'll I haven't to be fair. My general point being if I was a resident of Birmingham, I prefer the city wasn't an absolute shit tip before being concerned about having a massive chimney stadium. You've got Birmingham City Football Club and Birmingham City Council mixed up.
The buzz created from a new stadium will draw in extra fans. Birmingham as a successful Second Division club in the early seventies attracted huge crowds. It looks pretty good but as everyone is saying, where are those 30,000 extra fans going to come from?
I'd imagine they'll do what London Wasps did when they moved to Coventry or even West Ham with offering free tickets to tourists, schools and students.
For a working class club like Birmingham, it will completely flip the culture of the club on its head if half the ground is full of kids and international tourists.
Selling their soul for success and a bigger stadium than their far bigger neighbours.
Minging that wasn’t it, bloody awfulReminds of those fake 'castles' that West Ham built into the main stand at Upton Park.

Where are the 30,000 fans coming from, coming from a Coventry fan that is irony at its best. You’re the shittiest little scum club in the midlands. It looks pretty good but as everyone is saying, where are those 30,000 extra fans going to come from?

Was that not said about West Ham ?Was just saying the same thing to a lad at work. I get the wider rationale for a large city stadium in Birmingham for other events, but Birmingham City have never needed, or are liklely to ever need, 62,000 seats.
It's two completely different topics. We'll I haven't to be fair. My general point being if I was a resident of Birmingham, I prefer the city wasn't an absolute shit tip before being concerned about having a massive chimney stadium.
OK. I apologise for mentioning it.It's two completely different topics.
This, a new stadium gets people in. My cousin who was in his 20s was what I call a Sunderland liker. He never new when we were playing and could only name a handful of players. The SoL got him interested and he eventually became a season ticket holderThe buzz created from a new stadium will draw in extra fans. West Ham, traditionally not as well supported, found an extra 30,000 overnight.
The yanks have a bit more behind them than George.Could end up like Darlington these jokers

Somebody's overdosing on peaky blinders... cosplay wankersThose chimneys are ridiculous.
One might have been O.K. but to have that many in such a small space just doesn't work.
It looks like a theme park for the Industrial Revolution.
Plenty of fair weather fans and day trippers if the current Premier League trajectory continues. As they’re bound to get promoted at some point.
You’ve got to remember also that once HS2 is up and running, Birmingham could pretty much be considered as a London suburb. Which opens it up to a much larger tourist base.
They struggled to fill a 20k stadium for years , if they do fill it it’s gonna full of tourists so hopefully Birmingham has an influx of visitorsThis, a new stadium gets people in. I am not so sure if George, the self-proclaimed genius, put any of his own cash into his white elephant. Feethams was a proper little ground and situated in a lovely part of the town. This, a new stadium gets people in. My cousin who was in his 20s was what I call a Sunderland liker.
