New Birmingham Stadium - 60k+

I think it looks class and I would be proper excited being a brum fan, those chimneys will look unreal if built properly with skill, and as others have said Is a real nod to their history. Deliberately built with steep stands and as close to the pitch as possible, it’ll be some atmosphere in there. If it does actually get built, I’d be looking forward to eventually visiting without a doubt

I like it, but it could be done miles better, for starters I think the blue and brickwork is jarring, but the Indianapolis Colts have a great looking stadium that's not a million miles away from the kind of thing they're going for

Also really liked the concept behind Chelsea moving to Battersea Power Station.

Tbf we found quite a few when the stadium of light opened
We found around 20k they’d have to find around theee times their current fanbase to fill it. Not saying it won’t happen and it’s nice to see owners having big ambitions but almost trebling their attendance over night would be some going. I guess it depends on how they do between now and 2030. If they’re still in the championship they’ve got little hope but if they’ve made it to the premier league in the next two and a bit seasons they’ve got a better chance.
I actually like it. There’s too many identakit stadiums in this country. Spurs & Everton have paved the way for future stadia and another unique one can only be good.
Agree, we all know it won’t end up like that but hopefully it’s just not another stadium that could be any of the newer stadiums built in the last twenty years. Same as in the 90s they were all alike boros and ours. Derby, Southampton etc all very similar in style and layout.

I don’t necessarily mind the design but there’s not a cat in hells chance it gets built. They’ll quickly look for ‘value engineered solutions’ when they start getting prices back from Main Contractors.

It’s easily done mate, we live in a different world from when we did it.

You have to think of premier league games more like rock concerts nowadays, it’s basically filling it for 19 rock concerts a year.

Easily done, it’s more like the NFL, where every ground is sold out every year.

I’m not sure as they’ve had pretty I don’t like to judge fans etc but shite crowds over the decades for a club in the “second city”. Trebling their crowds unless they e got premier league football would be extremely impressive and against everything the statics shows. I don’t think empty seats bother owners as much as lots on here make out though. Like you say it’s only 19 games a season should they come up, it’s gonna be used for more outside of football and is being built as such. I’ve seen people argue we shouldn’t add another 4-7k seats because we might not sell them 🙈. Even if we had 1k empty seats every other week the extension would easily pay for itself with gigs and other means if we are gonna add more corporate boxes etc. I like their ambition though and the balls to design something a bit different even though I’ll be shocked if it looks like that in four years time.

They’ve never had them. They need a hell of a lot of success to get 60k

Tbf mate, you don’t need success. You just need to offer something different.

A brand new stadium will almost certainly add 20,000 to their crowds and therefore they will be looking at c45,000 crowds. That alone should be enough to kick them on.

I know people will say “yeah but that still leaves 17,000 empty seats” but I suspect they will already be planning for that.

They’ve already said that the stadium will be the steepest in the country and therefore the idea will be to pack out the lower tiers and then cover the top tiers.
Their catchment area is vastly reduced due to Villa, Wolves, West Brom etc...

Still think Brums ceiling is around the 40k mark...if they were in our position for example.

There’s a lot of plastic fans in Birmingham mind mate. If they can stop bellends from supporting Liverpool etc, that will be a start
