Yeah I was shafted by a jock in later job. I actually did his job for a year while the previous manager was on the sick but decided not to apply for the job when it was finally decided he wasn't coming back. They gave me a £4K rise (I did ask 🙂) so I must have been doing an OK job.

He was a slimy, tight piece of shit. Him and the HR woman didn't have a f***ing clue about redundancy and completely embarrassed themselves and I told them as much in the first meeting. I wish I had the strength to take them to court to properly show the pair of them up for the clueless pricks they were. They actually told me they would have the final meeting to get rid of me when I was in hospital waiting for a heart bypass! I laughed at them, told them I'd be representing myself in person and told them I see them in about 3 months. It got me an extra few months cash 😎

Oh I would agree with that, China is not helping and ALL car manufacturers in the UK /EU are struggling but if they were the most productive car plant in Europe and in the top 10 in the world like they were for a long time while I was there thanks to the graft of the workers then they have at least a chance of remaining open...🤔
Jaguar LR on the other hand building that big pink EV Elephant, I don't rate their chances in the slightest sadly...:rolleyes:
Be a sad day in the north east if NMUK ever did close, lets see, my money is still on them to remain open for a long while yet...👍

I assume you mean short notice saturdays, 6am starts and late finishes that they can impose 2hrs in advance? thats fair if thats what you meant, but as the poster below you accurately said, youve just described a normal job here bud :lol:

How the fuck would you know when to turn up if they never told you when your working and when you can leave, it’s a job you know not come as your please day some people are so weird

Is no such thing as short notice Saturdays they have to give you a minimum 2 weeks notice
 
Read the story about Jaguar Land Rover saying how many squillions they lost by being out of action for a few months; obviously when it's running fine they're just breaking even though, should any of their workers ever require a pay rise. 😆

Now they do, Im sure it was 2 days in emergencies when i worked there? granted my memory isnt what it was and i havent been there for 9years now. I do recall some Saturdays being called the same week and whilst you could get out of them, it was highly frowned upon and you felt pressured to do them

Talking nonsense you can come in if you like overtime short notice your choice , planned where you have no choice has to be 2 weeks notice I’ve been there almost 30 years
