The problem is footy has become so sanitised and corporate that it's accepted by many fans that people should sit down. Say that to the men of the 80s and before and they'd be incredulous. Footy is supposed to be all about unbridled emotion and passion, which it was today, the last thing people want to do in that emotional state is sit down like it's a fkin library. It's nee wonder atmospheres across the country have plummeted in the last couple of decades with all the health and safety nonsense.

I'm all for opening an elderly section for people who don't want to stand, but most of the stadium can safely stand.

The stewards are often jobsworth types who have terrible people skills in my experience, they often antagonise and inflame situations with their authoritarian "I'm incharge here" attitude.

Read up on human psychology and how to be persuasive when putting your PoV across and try again.
 
Must admit it’s ruined my season so far. I start celebrating the goals but then the banging starts I just sit back down fuming and fold my arms and shake my head.

Can never hear it at the ground only on tv replays which mean the people doing it know the microphones are there. Are they doing it because they think it sounds good?

But on a list of grievances, it wouldn't really register. So for the OP to actually start a petition has to be one of the most batshit crazy things I've heard for a while :lol:
