UEFA multi club ownership, Sunderland, Monaco and Juan Sartori.

Now before the barrage of don’t get carried away etc yes I will be happy with over 40 points and staying up, that ms what it’s all about this season.

That being said and Palace clearly found out about this, this season you can’t just sleep walk into a possible European place doing nothing as you don’t think you will make it.

So if Sunderland and Monaco were to both qualify for the same competition (let’s say Europa Conference league at this stage) we could have a problem on our hands with Satori.

Whilst he dosent own any shares personally in Monaco from what I can see, he is the vice president and does have decision making powers in that role.

As he has over 30% shares in Sunderland he also would be seen like Textor did at palace to have decision making powers at Sunderland.

I’m sure we won’t sleep walk into it like Palace did, but as things stand today we would not be able to play in the same European competition as Monaco, as it’s not explicitly about ownership it’s about decision making powers at a club.

Wow 😳…. We are in the big time.
Does it make any difference if he can prove he is in a non executive role?
Its his father in law who owns Monaco

Sartori will have to be taken out the back and shot if he thinks he can come in between us and playing in Europe.. I’ve only waited my whole life for it.
Given who his father in law is and his closeness to Putin..highly unlikely

Right to point this out , and if there’s any risk at all it needs to be covered off asap as the prob palace had from my understanding is they didn’t file the paperwork before the deadline, so it’s not something you can rectify if it happens

Didn't somebody post his name had been removed from our holding company a while back? I thought that meant he was no longer part of us but wasn't paying close attention.

Surely he could just resign his role at Monaco if he’s not a shareholder
This. It's a relatively easy fix in this case. Also they've changed the rules, now you just have to notify UEFA of any potential conflict of interest with multi club stuff by march 1st then you have time to rectify it- whereas before this year you had to already have solved it, right?

Sartori is also a non executive director at Sunderland, so I wonder whether that's significant or whether the conflict is in the shares.

Well I'm off on a boring course at the airport this morning and now worrying about what happens if we qualify for Europe has cheered me up no end.
I will naturally be making enquiries about chartering a large fleet of widebody aircraft for the logistics this achievement would involve.
