Premier League TV Selection Dates 2025/26

Agree wholeheartedly. However at this level the fans mean even less than they do in lower leagues. The elevation to PL status just means there are more opportunities for those inspired by money.
You say that, but if we were charged an extra £10 per ticket, then that would pay a couple of players wages each season. So although I agree that £8.5m per season is nowt to the club in the grand scheme of things, it still goes a long way towards balancing the books for PSR, and so clubs are incentivised to squeeze us. My contention is that they shouldn’t be. If clubs want to increase matchday revenue then they do it by increasing the capacity of their stadia so that they can sell more tickets, and not through increasing their prices.

I know I’ve gone a bit ‘fight the power ✊’ here, but I do think something has to change as a lot of people won’t be able to afford to go before too long.

I appreciate that the 8pm kick off is rubbish and inconvenient for some. However, football has always been scheduled on NYD. It doesn't matter if it's 8pm, or 3pm, the transport issues still exist. Also, if Leeds is moved to 4:30pm Sunday and Spurs to 2pm Sunday, then that is standard for games been moved for TV for Premier league coverage. We all want the club competing at the top table, so unfortunately we have to understand games will be moved for TV. Let's wait and see what's announced though. Would they put us on three times in a week?

The bigger question is - why the transport difficulties? The rest of Britain manages to run services on NYD.
if you need a loyalty point to encourage you to go to a premier league home game vs Manchester City then there’s something sadly wrong 🤣🤣🤦‍♂️

Some of us will have no choice but to miss it. No thanks to the country's public transport systems.

it’s New Year’s Day, we always have a drink with family with a dinner. Also, games shouldn’t be scheduled for times where it’s impossible for fans to get public transport back from it's ridiculous. I also don’t enjoy driving to games one bit. The attendance was reflected with the Sheffield United game (actual attendance, not tickets sold).

How long do you have to drive?

I'd just not be having a drink with dinner, its only new years day
A meal n few drinks before n after with family completes a matchday tbf.

I'm sure the alcohol addiction can be put to one side for one game.

With respect mate, the issue here isn’t having a drink or not New Year’s Day. It’s the fact that once again fans are thought of last with a ridiculous kick off time with no public transport. If your issue is more fans having a drink or not rather than fans being unable to get public transport to a game you’re on the wrong side of the argument. Many don’t even have the option to drive

Think the club felt the disatisfaction at last years fixture.

Bit of a kick in the bollocks if they then just proceed again.
