Slot - could he be in trouble?

They were just the most consistent last season in an inconsistent league. They were well below Klopp's champion winning team and the side that pushed City close. I think Slot is a downgrade on Klopp. My prediction is they'll finish 5th or 6th then he'll get the sack next season after a poor start.

Imagine spending £450m or whatever it was in the summer then having to field a team like that in the cup last night

Awful recruitment, Isak and Wirtz whilst good players represented terrible value for money.

Spent about £400m in the summer but whinging they can’t make loads of changes. He’s definitely feeling the pressure. I wish we were playing them sooner.
I like how he’s moaning about the amount of teenagers he has on the bench, and then uses Estevao as a Chelsea example of someone coming on - who’s also a teenager.

Staring down the barrel of 6 defeats in 7. Next 3 are Villa, Real Madrid & Man City.

A very real possibility they lose 10 out of 11 games, including 6 straight in the Premier League.

No chance, he just won the league with Liverpool.

Edit: Never mind, I just remembered Claudio Ranieri got sacked not even a year after he won the league with LC. I still think that he will be given time.

Excuses galore.
A club like Liverpool should be able to make this many changes and still be able to put out a competitive team.
They’ve just spent half a billion quid to add to a team that had already won the league ffs.

Spoke to a Liverpool fan on holiday earlier this week and asked him for his take.
Jota, was his reply. Salah in particular is really struggling.

I think that’s a big part of it, coupled with too much change and failing to strengthen their defence.

Whoever is in charge of recruitment at Liverpool need to be given the boot after the summer mind.

They spent an absolute load to pull away further, and instead wasted a quarter of a billion on two players who currently look shit in Wirtz & Isak, when they had far more pressing concerns to go for. Centre back in particular.

For a team to spend near half a billion and are an injury away to Van Dijk for a defensive crisis it’s shockingly bad.

They waited till deadline day to stump up an acceptable offer for Guehi. Idiots.

Putting out the team he did last night was criminal. Whilst the League Cup will be the least of Liverpool's ambitions, arresting a losing run and using it as a springboard to start building some momentum was almost vital. He effectively threw the game away with his team selection which did nothing for the confidence of his fringe players who were surrounded by kids, and he'll now have doubts about the effectiveness of said fringe players which would be a little unfair given he chucked in a load of youngsters alongside them to play against a very difficult PL team.

Winning last night would have bought him a bit more time as at times, football is a bit of a PR exercise and if they lose another 3/4 in quick succession, having it broken up by a win last night would have been some useful smoke and mirrors for him.

The Guehi one was mad. Okay the lad wanted the move but there was a massive failure at Liverpool by waiting until the last day. A bit self-entitled to assume Palace would bend over and sell their best defender when they had no chance of replacing him last minute. I wonder if Guehi will even move there now, he’ll have his choice of clubs come January, both here and abroad.

Their summer recruitment was poor but the Isak thing, I wouldn’t change it for the world

I argued with some on here on he transfer window final day who said Palace should have bent over for Liverpool.
