Here's a clue - with his family's background, imagine the quality of financial expertise available at KLD's finger tips if required - and that's not to mention the sources of funding that would also be available to him if required.

The CFO of the Louis-Dreyfus company is a director here (and was at Marseille for Kyril's dad). How much more expertise do people want?

Yeah. My thoughts is it's a place holder to prove we can stay in the league. With the Dreyfus family contacts and Sartoris own contacts they could secure a solid shirt sponsor and even naming rights for the SOL/academy to generate a substantial revenue stream

I don’t like gambling sponsors because of the Havoc gambling can wreak on individuals, but I’m not precious about the stadium name.

If a big company wanted to call it “The x Stadium of Light” then in the main I’d be fine with it.

As an example, the Louis Dreyfus group has 3 ocean vessel companies, Louis Dreyfus Company, Louis Dreyfus Armateurs and Louis Dreyfus Travocean.

If it got renamed “The Travocean Stadium of Light” or “LDC Stadium of Light” then I wouldn’t mind, hopefully the SOL part remains though.
 
if it's secured against guaranteed money for later this season then it's unlikely to be for transfers- it will just be cash flow management, right?

I'd say a few people commenting on this are not understanding loans at all. If you think, most country's around the world are in loads of debt, where the payback for this is a matter of months FFS.
 
KLD is an exceptional owner from many perspectives, we are very lucky to have him.

I think he will be with us at least until the champions league, perhaps longer.

I think KLD now has a handle on how passionate and what we as a fan base will accept. Granted hes got things wrong before especially the mags game. I would expect any naming of stadium would still incorporate SOL as a name
 
Seems an awful lot of people are forgetting about the already sky rocketing value of individuals in our team. Of course, nobody wants to lose their best players but we now have a squad full of assets worth a hell of a lot of money.

I think you’re right. The stadium could be sponsored, the ground could be sponsored, a more lucrative shirt sponsor etc.

Providing the club get them right both financially & from a PR perspective, it could bring in really good revenue.

I vaguely remember that being mentioned previously (on here, by you?) and thinking this isn't just a 23 yo bairn and an expensive toy - there's some serious heft involved.
