Walked across today for the first time very impressed tried to picture where my uncles pigeon loft or ducket as it was called used to be somewhere below Ember I think .
Still a bit work going on one side . Pity there's no bins as some twat left all there McDonalds empty's on a bench about half way across

Exactly , there could be a bin every 2 feet , it wouldn't matter to some people.

Should just stick a camera on and anyone found littering gets their photo on that giant screen in Keel Square with ‘scruffy f***ing ****’ written on big letters beside their photo and it’s left on for weeks for everyone to see. And also as a way of tracking and fining them.

Indeed. I grew out of my only social life being getting pissed in my early 20s.

I gave up heading into town every weekend in my 20s and decided to start heading away clubbing once or twice a month. Stayed like that since.

Issue is it needs to be high enough to let ships through if we want to keep the idea of a port/docks open.

Not sure. But having a low bridge beyond liebherr area wouldn't be viable I don't think.

Does anybody know if you still get 2 hours free parking at the stadium. I need to nip into the town this afternoon and the new bridge will be ideal, if I don't have to pay to park. Free parking and the walk is a good incentive

Do you think people are going to start including the sheepfolds as part of their town route cos there’s a bridge there now?
The only realistic scenario I can envisage would be to start there, maybe to get some food, then cross the bridge to start the town route. We’d just get a taxi to do that if there was no bridge so it might save a coupon for quid, but that’s probably offset by the extortionate drink prices in the stables. It’s not like you’re going for a few cheap ones to start the night off is it?

Easy to get to SOL from South Shields for parking, and a pleasant 10 minute walk past the Sheepfold and over the new bridge. Even my wife who is usually good spotting flaws couldn't fault it and was very impressed, Praise indeed.

Sheepfolds was busy, good to see.

I was walking along after work and there was a group of about 7 or 8 young lads, excitedly got off their electric scooters and proudly lined them up in a v formation before taking a photo.

Looked like it would have been a canny photo as well
