I see what you mean. Being U shaped, you have to pass through a lot of rooms to get anywhere. Then you have a small dining room in the opposite corner of the house to the kitchen, but there is a small kitchen next to it. But between that and the drawing room, study/family room, is a bedroom. It feels like all the rooms are thrown into odd places.I saw this house being built on a green field site in the 1980s - apparently the owner was in his early 20s and had just made his fortune in the city.
In the mid-90s I was driving past one night to see police and an ambulance attending my neighbour's car after he crashed through the fence and hedge right next to the tower part of the house. My neighbour was still in the car with what looked like his brains spattered all over the interior. I thought he was a goner. It was actually his Indian takeaway. He had serious leg injuries, but eventually recovered.
I'd never seen inside the house until now. Some interesting ideas, but it doesn't quite come together as a unified whole.

Then I never like the open plan kitchen living rooms. Too much heat, noise and humidity in a kitchen. I like the living room and dining room separate so if you have been busy in the kitchen for a few hours the other rooms are a cooler relaxing space. Any you can stick on some music in the kitchen without worrying about someone watching TV.
