Bainbridge on loan started. Kelly ex-Sunderland also started. Walsh is back from loan, didn’t get much game time.Back on track now it seems, couple of young Sunderland lads there on loan, not sure if they getting game time.
Yep. National League next up. At this point, Fylde look like their main challengers. They're 4 up at Spennymoor. Shields 3 points clear of them with a game in hand and slightly better goal difference though.
Particularly as it’s currently scheduled for Tuesday, 2 days after our FA cup game against ShrewsburyThe play Fylde (A) the mid-week after their FA Cup game. If they come from their with anything I think that'd be a very good result.
Put Scarborough to the sword tonight.
I won't mention the keeper but at least he saved the worst penalty since Michael Gray miss at Wembley![]()
Ah pity about young Walsh, looked as if he had a bit about him when he joined, but doesn't seem to be progressing ?Bainbridge on loan started. Kelly ex-Sunderland also started. Walsh is back from loan, didn’t get much game time.

13Hard to imagine it's not that long ago that they were playing at Peterlee in front of about 40 in the lower regions of the Northern League 2nd Division. Then along came Mr Thompson and the rest is history
Absolutely mate! Would love them to get promoted to the NL, although not at the expense of Pools which could happen with the way the club is being run currently, PTID.Aye and of course a localish derby against the Mighty Monkey Hangers!!!
Thanksgeneral sale Monday
I remember the first couple of seasons in the Northern Alliance on an open, unenclosed pitch at Jack Clark Park - one season playing Morecambe in the FA Trophy semi-final and Wigan in the League at Simonside Hall and the next, a reformed Shields Mariners playing the likes of Alston, Newcastle University and Bede College. They had some canny crowds there. 1400 for a fourth round Vase game against Brigg Town and regular league crowds of around 400 at a time when interest generally in non-league football was almost zero.
