Great for the north east to have events like this. Not a big Fender fan, but if more kids in the North east get encouraged to pick a guitar on the back of seeing him, that's only a good thing.

That record was actually quite good to be fair, but I agree it doesn't sit right that a band playing massive stadiums are even part of the conversation for this award. Feels like that's what the Brit Awards are for. The Mercury Prize should be about championing smaller bands/artists.

So like last night Tyne Tees News will be taken over as the Newcastle show tonight and I mean this result wasn’t expected was it.
Too many kids grow up round here thinking that opportunities aren't for people like them. Seeing other local kids go on to be famous musicians, film stars, directors, artists, chefs etc. hopefully helps change that
