Sheff Wed - financial issues

I'm personally just so bored of it all to be honest. I didn't even know who we were playing on Saturday until this afternoon.

My usual enthusiasm for an owls game has been completely eroded. Can't even remember the last time I even went on the owls forums to see what's happening.
Your team are still fighting on the pitch, it’s good to see. I noticed you nearly beat Birmingham away. Would have loved to see you hang on v them arrogant arseholes.

It’s admirable you’re still competitive in most games after all the shit you’ve gone through tbf. Chansiri shouldn’t be anywhere near owning a football club again. I hope he’s forced out for your club’s sake.

Hopefully the new independent adjudicator’s first job is to help force him out

Will the points deductions start to mount up?

They'll get docked some for failure to pay wages on time, then more on top for a winding up order. Will the resulting entering of administration also knock points off?

So is relegation inevitable? Is it actually beneficial for this to happen then as it'll mean a new owner will know where they stand and knowing that there'll be no extra point deductions next season waiting in the shadows?
They won't get deducted points directly for failure to pay wages.

However once HMRC issue a winding up petition the usual escape route is via administration which carries an automatic ten point deduction.

Relegation would probably be inevitable so a new owner would be in effect buying a L1 club, which may make it more difficult to attract a buyer for the asking price.

I;ll take all the emabargos, points deductons, to be honest the club deserves everything we get,,,,The fans don;t, but who apart from Owls fans puts up that argument?
I'm just sick of all the distractions from having to do what I've always done, ...Get upof a Saturday morning, trip to Hillsborough, shout "Offside" Handball "Away...daft sod "..."and "Hoof it"....I care not a jot for allthe peripheral tat...I mean, f.ook me....
Look at us!!
Black and gold scarves, spinning round on 10 minutes to show how unhappy we are about a chairman you hardly noticed before football turned to financial fookwhitted crap....?
Boycotting games,?...I'm sat sat home next week, boycotting the 'Boro game....Charlton away...we sold out!, wheres the bloody plan? Chansiri still gets 5% of the money from the Charlton away game..Why the f.ook are we all ploughing down to London ..When I'm sat at home not going to a game I already sodding paid for with me season ticket?....Burn the fooking thing down and start again

I'm similar to you ST holder and boycotting the Boro game, but it can't be one rule for home fans and one for away regarding putting the squeeze on Chancer.

What's more important getting change at the club or away ticket priority points and they get their day out with the lads. (I think we know how some Wednesday fans would vote)

Yes, a tragedy for SWFC - a proper, traditional club, with an excellent support.
Unfortunately, can see it happening again, despite this new Government appointed Football regulator.
Hope things turn around quickly for the Owls...
This should be on those inept idiots at the EFL who sanctioned the take over
Absolutely disgusting that Sheff Weds has reached this low

Will they still be allowed to call themselves Sheff Weds or will it be AFC Sheff Wednesday?

I feel for you mate. Always had a soft spot for Wednesday. When I was a bairn and you had Waddle, Hirst etc.

One of the things that I can say from personal experience, is that myself and a couple of others spent a long period when we were in the doldrums, focused on the intricacies of our finances in order to keep pressure on our owners. It was awful on a personal level, and it really was shit having to ponder after every match whether it was better or worse to lose to try and get shot of the two chancers we had, or win and try to somehow get promoted against the odds.

The good news is that you lads are probably far more united about what you want to happen, but the bad news is that even compared to what we had, Chansiri looks like a worse character who has zero interest in his reputational damage or any future football endeavours. All I can say is keep the pressure up and hope for the best. Wednesday are a historic club and I think there'd be a huge outcry from many fans around the country if you ended up going out of business properly.

Obviously I hope they don't go under, but what about their creditors such as small local businesses who are relying on getting paid by them?
I remember Portsmouth going into administration for the second time and a local joiner not being paid and others saying they were having to lay people off. Properly shit carry-on from wankers whose ego leads them to own institutions such as Sheff Wed and Pompey and bollocks to everyone else.
The fit and proper persons test was shown for what it was when Donald said that he found the funds “down the back of the sofa”.
If not for Sartori, we could have been another statistic.

Hopefully the winding up order is the thing that gets the owner to finally swallow any pride he has left and sells up, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he put the club in admin before he goes.
