🚧 Sheepfolds is transforming - and the latest progress is quite literally paving the way.

We’re proud to see the next phase of the Riverside Sunderland regeneration taking shape, with Invalid/outdated Link Removed and Invalid/outdated Link Removed working together to deliver a £5.7 million infrastructure upgrade.

✅ The main concourse paving is now laid
✅ Work continues on the overpass above the Heritage Walkway

Next up: the historic wagonway will be beautifully restored using reclaimed cobbles, preserving our heritage while paving the way for future generations.

This transformation isn’t just about infrastructure – it’s about creating a vibrant, connected, and welcoming space for residents, visitors, and families to enjoy.

Whether you're walking to a match, cycling into town, or exploring the riverside, Sheepfolds is becoming a place we can all be proud of.

Keep up to date with the latest developments

Probably been SEB somewhere but I just realised why that, since the rugby, the first part of the bridge now has a different layout with the 2 angled stripes coming off the keel line. It's front of the keel and the angles are similar to being the 2 stripes leading off like the bow of a ship.

Though I can't see anything in the patterning of the rest of the bridge how it starts going straight across, then a slight angle and then a bigger angle near the SOL side.

This was the CGI version and you can see it much easier.

It's bugging me a bit that those two stripes aren't symmetrical mind

It's just the perspective view of the photo making it look that way. Look at 7:50 and 11:10 in the video below to see a better angle of it.

It still looks off. If you look at where tarmac starts inside the stripes, it starts higher up the keel line on the right. It's only slight and it won't bother normal people

Not bad for a corrupt council  The transformation has been superb and adds real value to the city.

Are you saying the whole car park is rubbish?

Why.

It was built on a Neolithic burial mound. Every third space is inhabited by the spirit of those who died a violent death, and its said the same fate befalls those who park in them. The only problem is that nobody knows which is every third space. Best avoid it marra.
