Cocktails…


Not a cocktail drinker really. Think I've only been in a cocktail bar twice. First time in Nottingham as a student I had Brandy Alexanders because I knew about John Lennon drinking them. Next time in Newcastle on the Quayside drank Whisky Macs. I had to explain what they are and the barman had no idea he was filling my half pint glass up with alcohol as he added the Crabbie's mixer.

Was off the drink for 8 weeks in the summer, various afflictions and didn't really feel like it. Espresso Martinis ere part of my return to life.
 
Tend to go for something whisky based (manhattan, vieux carre, sazerac) or a dry gin martini. Make a lot of daiquiris, margaritas and gimlets for the other half.

Got a cracking one in New York last week called an undertaker. Rye, ferret, chartreuse, licor 43.

250ml Big Tom tomato juice
50ml vodka
25ml lemon juice
25ml PX Sherry
few shakes Worcestershire sauce
Sriracha sauce
pinch of salt and black pepper

Celery salt is a game changer in a bloody mary imo. Will give the px sherry a go though.

I don't drink anymore but my favourite cocktail would have to be the long island iced tea from Chiquitos that I first had around 20+ years ago (not even sure if they're still trading or still selling those cocktails if so).

I’m partial to a cocktail. But my lass gets mental on them so I try to make it a weekend thing.

I like a Long Island Iced Tea, a mojito or a Martini.

She likes porn star martinis and the Prosecco shots.

At the minute I’m on a journey through the land of single malt whisky so I’ve not had a cocktail in a while.

But you’ve perked my interest. 🍸
