I'm unsure why people on here keep comparing the Scottish league to our league systems.
It's nothing like any of them geographically or financially. They have much more in common with smaller countries like Sweden, Austria, and Portugal.
Scottish games are well attended per capita, and Old Firm apart, clubs with strong links in their communities.
I go to a couple Morton games a year with in-laws, it's basic stuff but entertaining.
I'm up in Nairn on holiday and went to see a Highland League game yesterday, A great day out, only around 400 at the match. Didn't hear anyone worrying about League One.

I'm not saying owt about how many people go to games or how passionate they are. All levels of football can be entertaining (including women's). I've said this many a time on here when people whinge about boring games on TV. Not all games of footy will be entertaining even in the Premier League/Champions League yet even Sunday League can be entertaining.
My post was aimed at the finances in Scottish football, therefore spending power for the players and quality of those players which will mean a poorer standard of opposition to play against. This can't be good for a team that's nearer lower PL level money if they aren't being 'tested' as often given most games are a guaranteed win playing no better than League One/Two standard opposition rather than top tier opposition.
Although they finally won the Champions League, is this why PSG failed so many years in Europe even with money as they didn't really have a 'competitive' league? Though given the recent Club World Cup and expansion of the Champions League then PSG are now playing more games against better opposition. They played 17 Champions League games last season and 7 in the Club World Cup so a lot more games against decent opposition.

I get all that. I'm just saying there's no point comparing, because the Scottish League system is nothing like ours. They don't have a sellable TV market. It's like if we had a Yorkshire League, or a Midlands League.
It's a tiny country, if anything it is far more like the Portuguese League. People I meet at games in Scotland are as about interested in League One and English League finances as you are in Bundesliga 2. No offence.

I don't think you get it as I'm comparing finances to show how little money there is even in the Scottish Premiership. Therefore the standard of player the other teams can attract will understandably be poor as they don't even have the spending power of teams in League One/Two and location won't help if trying to attract someone from down South just like us and the mags have an issue with.
A team like Celtic that doesn't really have decent opposition in the league could well struggle against other teams in Europe who have been in more 'competitive' league or have more financial spending power and higher standard of player.

Which is great but he lost more games than he won, hes only ever had 1 managerial role and to be Rangers manager you are more than just the bloke who tells 11 players what to do and prepares them tactically. You have to lead the entire club showing strength and character to win every week. We arent interested in getting the most passes or our XG. Its about personality and presence. Let the coaches obsess about the finer details, you're the manager of Rangers there to set standards.
We have similar requirements to Manchester United who are also currently obsessed with modernising with laptop turbo nerds drawing up graphs, waffling on about XG and what the data tells them.
Now lets revisit Danny Rohl and list all the examples of personality and presence that Rohl has displayed in his coaching career....

I'm not sure you do as I'm saying the money isn't in the league to make to make it competitive to the level it needs to be for the likes of Celtic and Rangers to get anywhere in the Champions League, even the Europa League. The opposition only has the financial power of a League One/Two team which most know isn't great. I didn't realise the financial gap that massive in Scotland and therefore the gap of player value/quality.
Would Man City and Liverpool benefit more playing League One/Two teams every week in the league and then coming up against teams who've played against higher standard players all season in the league? I don't think they would as those games against weaker opposition would be nowt like what they're used to now in the Premier League.
