Saw them supporting the Stranglers in the summer. Jobson was a right bouncy nutterSkids at The Grove last night, absolutely superb. Great craic too from Jobson.
Not the most picturesque of walks from Byker station to the venue, but well worth the effort going to scumcastle to see The Skids![]()
What were they likeSkids tomorrow night at the Grove in Byker.
Kooks aren’t bad and they had the Ks supportingBusy night in Newcastle/Gateshead last night - OCS at The Sage, Sleeper at The NX, The Kooks at The Arena (who knew they were so popular?) and the one I was at, Kelly Moran at The Arts Centre.

Opportunity for ageing rockers with weak bladders to have a piss after an hour and a half on stage, or even just a rest before giving their all for the last couple of songs. But from an audience perspective it's a load of nonsense really and I was happy with Gedge's approach.Encores are f***ing shite, hate this staged nonsense just crack on then fuck off for me like
Quite a few I wasn't familiar with. Only second time I've seen them and first was at tiny venue in Dudley in 1984, just after Vengeance was released. Bit different this time with 2500 - brilliant gig though. Amazing to think Justin Sullivan will be 70 next year!just got back from the sheffield gig. lincoln gig tomorrow (today) did a couple of songs i've never heard them do live before (stranger and legend)

Seen the picturesDEWOLFF outstanding last night at The Cluny - real old school Soulful Bluesy Rock by the Dutch three-piece with plenty of guitar/Hammond organ interplay and mazy improvised jams amongst the great songs and Soulful vocals.
Very intimatewhat did you think of the venue?
Utah Saints doing Bearded Theory next year - trying to get in running a craft workshop, otherwise it's £750 for 2 people with camper.Just got Utah Saints and Franz Ferdinand tickets for February.
A bit steep to hear the couple of songs they didUtah Saints doing Bearded Theory next year - trying to get in running a craft workshop, otherwise it's £750 for 2 people with camper.
Lots of names for me to research there like. Cheers.Sheffield yesterday for In The Know festival, no band clashes and cheap as chips this one as i bought tickets early (£20!) when M60 were announced.
Very similar line up to the day festivals in Stockton, indeed a few I saw a few weeks ago!
4pm started with The Slates (saw 2 weeks ago), great again but was v short set!
Revivalry were next up, 3 young kids but make a good racket, saw them at Kendall this year, really took over the smaller stage here,
M60 then were one of highlights of the day (and prob biggest crowd despite being on middle of show), i really think they got good chance of making it - proper good indie guitar tunes (4th time seen them now, also saw them at Kendall),
Tom A Smith then on main stage, not seen him for a few years tbh, but hes grown up,almost mick jagger esq, liked his newer songs - Fashion he ended with was really good,
The Cases were on smaller stage, but was packed with kids in venue for some reason, then my daughter (no) tells me theyve had a viral song on tik tok apparently, another one saw a few weeks back in Stockton, good promising indie band,
Pentire id not seen before, but loads had raved about them, they were decent but nothing special imo,
The Publics, another one id not seen before, had a big crowd on the second stage, liked these really got the crowd going a bit heavier more rock indie guitar sound,
The Crooks, id listened to on Spotify, very Oasis sound a like, and were same on stage, wasnt that impressed tbh but they did also have technical problems,
Always one band that you dont know at these things you end up loving, The Assist, heard nothing about them but were brilliant, frontman really loving it and they were great to watch and bounce to!
Another band had pulled out so Rolla moved to main stage, and wow, id heard they were good but wow again! Think Kasabian without keyboards, just dancey indie guitar angry frontman band, really enjoyed these
Trampolene were last band up but ill be honest the rums and red stripes had took hold of me and daughter was hungry so we left before they came on for food and taxi
Another brilliant day out, UNBELIEVABLE value to see all these bands - i really struggle in bigger venues now tbh
Next gig: rearranged Ks gig at Sunderland, then cant wait for Babyshambles
Great listening to reggae on a sunny day like todayLots of names for me to research there like. Cheers.
I’m listening to a David Rodigan show on BBC Sounds right now like
