If I was "Scared of change" I wouldn't be voting Labour , as they've changed the city entirely in the last 5 years.

Let's hope they ram this fact home when it comes to campaigning. They have solid evidence of doing good for the city. It's transformed, as you say. Anyone voting for that other lot in the circumstances (or indeed any circumstances, IMO) needs their head examining.

I'm hoping that when people are walking to and from the match over the next few months , it slowly starts to dawn how much the city has changed for the better. Against all the odds.

The new bridge is absolutely critical to this.

The sheepfolds development and the new construction college next to the stadium are now 5 mins walk to the town centre . And the rest of sheepfolds will be developed in the next few years off the back of this. The whole vaux site, keel square , fire station area, culture house, and the new eye infirmary link into it all. It's been very smart planning and with the bridge open we're gonna see a massive benefit

It's immeasurable how important the new bridge is. I just hope people can see it and give credit where credit is due

Sorry mate, labour may get the usual votes in Sunderland coz loads are scared of change. Unfortunately, they wouldn't be in power nowadays if there was a general election. Must be a few reform voters in the UK somewhere.

I think we can leave it where it is with over 340k views. I rarely venture onto Pure Football and I guess there are people who rarely venture over here so arguably it makes sense if there is one specifically about the opening and the match on PF.

I think we need to vastly separate Local councils and government which we should be praising the change in Sunderland.

But it works so well in Europe, hoping it's wide enough to manage to get across easily on a non-matchday

Didnt realise they were putting houses on Sheepfolds - going to be a nightmare on a matchday for people who buy them!

People who buy them will know what to expect, was exactly the same with roker park

There's not just going to be people going to the match wanting to be one of the first to go over, there's gonna be a few who just want to go over to see what it's like, record it for social media etc.

It could end up packed given it's opening that time so surely they must realise the potential of many 1,000s being there wanting to cross?

:edit: this isn't a whinge far from it but it's more of a concern given it's not just going to be 1,000s of match day goers wanting to be there.

I would. Least worst option available currently. They need time to turn the massive shit sandwich they inherited into something more palatable. They've had a year and a bit. Don't know what people were expecting but we are already starting to head in the right direction.

People's hatred for "Starmer" blinds them of any rational or positivity that goes on around them sadly.
