Facing Wilkie was the first time I realised I was out of my depth. Incredible bowler....he was mid 40s when I played against him.

Wilkinson was superb. Played against him years ago. He didn’t get me out but I couldn’t get the ball off the square!

Also played against Collingwood both juniors and senior teams. First time I played against him I obviously didn’t know who he was. Our junior team had a decent fast bowler who bowled out Collingwood’s brother (think he was called Peter). Out walks this little ginger lad so I go and stand at silly point. First ball he absolutely smacks like a tracer bullet past me for four!
 
Was excited when we signed Shoaib Akhtar.

We sat side on to the wicket and wondered what the fuss was about for his opening "loosener".
His second came down the wicket so quick it was past the batsmen and almost took the wicketkeeper's head off. :lol:

We just looked at eachother and pissed ourselves.

They don't.

As per usual though on one of their periodic upswings with delusions of grandeur they quickly turn to attempting to annex County Durham sports teams.

Like living in the shadow of the third Reich.

To counteract any international call ups ,injuries , weather and pitch conditions etc I've added the following players
A Fothergill
Wasim Raja (RIP)
BL Cairns
PJ Kippax
PW Parker
Head of cricket G.Cook
Coaches : J Lewis and N Killeen

If we are going favourite players then I'm going with. Diva. Jennings. Benks. Clarky. Stokes. Will Smith. Mustard. Blackwell. Rushworth. Thorp. Raine. (Not sure if Thorp was classed as overseas but I'm throwing him in). Always liked Michael Richardson so he would be sub wicketkeeper

I'd rate Martin Moxon ahead of Jon Lewis as batting coach.
