SOL expansion

The club will nibble away at concession tickets before any extension. Imo.
This! Been doing it the last 2 seasons as last season (2024/25) they started charging more for East & West stands for new STs unlike previous years when they were all the same (left was 2024/25 renewals).

This was the 2025/26 renewals/new STs. They dropped the U16 to U14 and completely dropped the U14 from the centre of the East & West stand (red sections).

Along with ticket price rises across the board (canny increase for concessions), this is the price to pay when demand exceeds supply but the kids are the next generation of fans and need access to games. If you start restricting some of them then they don't get hooked at a young age making going to the game part of their social life. They won't be around when seats need filling when times are shite or older fans eventually stop going on the fan conveyor belt.

This is part of the reason why our crowds have been high no matter the division or footy as bairns watching us years ago still go to games years later with family and friends for a social meeting, not just the footy and memories can still be made even in shit times no matter what division.

Also bear in mind that if they can't go, some kids in wider areas will more than likely end up a 'TV' fan and some will be more tempted with the mags at the minute. Aye they may not go to games, but some would still want the kits/merchandise etc so even that would be lost revenue.

Then again, empty seats look shite on TV and those nasty mags take the piss so who cares about fans missing out, especially the bairns as it's all about selling out.

I noticed the Stadium Of Light will host "Take That" Tour on June 9th 2026 .

Nice little earner to be fair.

Aye, I forgot about that as it's higher again as that price table I hoyed up was from March for renewals and new ST before we knew what division we were in. They then increased them again in June for new STs at higher prices. Looks like they want the kids out of the red sections with £335 now being the cheapest for U18 which was £135 in 2024/25.

It would be smashing, another 2k corporate and >3k fans who currently can't get a ticket.....

But at the end of the day, we can't even finish painting the fucker, let alone extending it. So lets have a bit of realism.

There's no rush painting it though. The 2 scissor lifts were at the South Stand this morning, its only a temporary quick fix anyway if we are extending

It’s an interesting one. The demand is there now for sure. Last time around we were in the PL for 10 years. Yes it was a slog for a lot of it and crowds were good but you could get a ticket for most games.

What would we need to be as a side across a few years for us to have a sustained demand of 50k plus? The PL can become quite predictable and dull especially for mid table established sides. A nice problem to consider and if prices would drop as a result that can’t be a bad thing as they’ve gone up a lot in the past few years.

I would rather not have reform anywhere near our city , I bet the club owners probably agree with that

Im sure we are thinking about extending but it won't be till we are secure in the premier league
I agree but its very likely to happen. So I hope the club have a plan for it and to work to get what they want.
