Rush: Fifty Something Tour

When they mentioned another stage member I thought singer, I thought go on boys ,ballsy move along with Drummer . Alas no . Don't think I'd hunt tickets . Saw them at their prime ,that's fine for me
Looks like they will have someone on keys freeing up GED to play bass and vocals

I love Rush and I'd love to have seen them live in their heyday. I'd still love to see them live but Geddy's voice isn't what it used to be. They're obviously bringing a stand-in drummer, they're talking about bringing a keyboard player so that Geddy doesn't have to do that while he''s playing bass, but I'd like them to go one step further and bring a stand-in vocalist too.

The guy from Coheed And Cambria maybe.

Or James LaBrie from Dream Theater.

Perhaps even someone like Eddie Vedder. I dunno, maybe a bit high for him.

That's what I thought at first when he mentioned just being the bass player.

He says they had Greg Kurstin on keyboards at the Hawkins gigs and he enjoyed it so it's a natural step.

Might have to get me a Levi jacket and bleach hemispheres onto again to relive the moment

Surely they have to play the UK

You can’t complain about Geddy Lee’s voice being shot and then suggest La Brie as a replacement!! Dear me!! 😆😆😆

I was listening to an interview with Feeder front man Grant Nicholas and he was banging on about being a big fan of Rush, what would be a good album or two to check out? I'm not working through 19 studio albums

LaBrie sounds almost as good as he ever has. Have you heard the latest album?

You're going to get a different answer from everyone you ask.

They've had various different eras where they've had different sounds and priorities.

There are a few outlying albums but as a general theme it's been along the lines of...

1st album - kind of early Led Zeppy, more basic rock stuff
2nd album though the 70s - very proggy, fantasy/sci fi stuff
80's - synth era, more song oriented
early 90's - back to basics guitar-oriented, less synth emphasis
early-mid 90's - bigger Floydesque production, some synths

ehh... tbh it gets a bit muddled from 80's onward, it'd probably be easier to describe them album by album but fuck that. xD

Fuck it, go for Power Windows, Moving Pictures, Grace Under Pressure.

I love power windows but I wouldn’t recommend it for someone listening for the first time.

Got to be Permanent Waves or Moving Pictures.

I thought this was funny from the Time Machine tour.
