I'm dreading the off-season signings, particularly with our recent history of bowling offcasts.
Today's worry is Josh Boyden of Lancashire who is being released. He'll probably be cheap, is relatively young and represented England at u19 level. No doubt DCCC would see him as anothet Archie Bailey.

I agree. He was just an example. I’ve no reason to think DCCC are, but I fear this is the type of signing we’ll be making.

Very sad news for both John and Durham cricket. Noticeably no mention of advertising for a successor. Probably Thorp but there is no evidence afaia of him having developed any prospects over the years as i.c. Cricket at Parkview Academy.
I really despair at what is happening at Durham Cricket.

What became of that advert for a mental performance coach or something that went up and was removed pronto?
I think most of the young ones are part of the official Academy and go to Park View to top off their academic qualifications

Not a bad shout that. I played against the academy last year and he was their ‘11th man’. He fielded and came into bat 11, just like what John used to do when the academy had a team in the premier league

Can't remember if it was Campbell or Franklin but one of them had a not so subtle whinge about the quality of players coming out of the academy.
