Competing to be the NE top dogs

When cicumstances allow it we dream, and so we should.
We'll also handle any defeats come our way this season with dignity. We're used to it.
Support won't fade either way.

Couldn't agree more, IF we win one or both of our next two games which is a more than likely bet, there will be more far fetched dreaming, and rightly so 🙏.

Let's not carried away.

The chances of us finishing ahead of them when all is said and done are extremely remote.

It's been a cracking start and long may it continue, it has been fun winding them up, but they have so much quality and are miles better than us, if we're being realistic.

They are a Champions League side for a reason.

Without Isak's goals they look mediocre, nothing special at all and to say we won't finish above them is premature to say the least. I won't be dreading the derby game at all, bring it on. We're getting harder to beat every game. We just need to get Brobbey up to speed and Eli back to form for more goal power. Wison has been amazing so far.

I think the Mags are overrated, everyone knows how they play, too predictable plus they won't be playing the likes Wolves, Bradford and USG every week.
We are an unknown quantity with RLB in charge, that is to our advantage.
RLB may well hold the covered NE Top Dogs trophy aloft come May.

Some people are getting massively carried away mind
This. Success this season for me is 17th or above. Take out the local rivalry aspect and the op is asking us to overtake a side that’s finished in the top five of the premier league twice in the last three seasons. Take away it’s the Saudis and everyone would think it crazy.

One step at a time for me.

This season? Not a chance. They’ve a champions league squad who’ve not quite adapted to life without Isak yet and they’ve played last seasons top 2 in the first 6.

It cost them half a billion to put together, Howe is one of the best coaches in the league and we’ve had a couple of world class goalkeeping performances to get us to where we are currently.

Posting about being “NE top dogs” after having 6 PL games in 8 years just feeds their argument about us being obsessed.
spot on, 6 games in.

Couldn’t give a shit about that Middle Eastern lot. Couldn’t be any further away from a local rivalry than it is now tbf.

Our local rivals are now Boro
Theirs is Al-Hilal

Half of our fixtures have been against sides who qualified for Europe last season with two of them being away fixtures.

Why try to play down our good start?
This

Mags have also played bottom of the league Wolves
We're competing for Europe, couldn't care less about them. Mags I know can't stop talking about us though, they're gutted by our start. I actually think it'll add to the pressure there if they don't start winning asap.
I think internally that’s the goal - not that they’d ever admit it

Its nowhere near a CL squad.

Their defenders are bang average and aging

Their MF is very decent at one role, albeit I’d say Tonali could be outstanding

Their attackers run lots and create lots but struggle to see who’s giving them 20 goals.

Our defence is better, keepers better, they’re better in midfield and our attackers are similar - they create more but neither will have a prolific scorer
