I find it absolutely bizarre that people are obsessed with former players especially where we’re are at the moment.
I think you're confusing 'obsession', with having a mild interest in how they're doing.

... but I do find the leap to the "should we bring them home?" question odd. Thousands of other players out there, returns rarely happen and often don't work when they do.

If he stays fit he’s easily the best striker in the Championship and would cut it at Premier League level.
He shouldn’t be doing knee slides though.

Most lads fans showing a lot of class here towards a lad who wanted away for a better deal.
He was on buttons at Sunderland and offered good money at Southampton. He’s coming closer to the end of his playing career so needs to set himself up.
We got a good deal out of his sale (for a player with a sketchy injury record).
No bitterness from any fans, most would do the same given the circumstances.

Agree 100%.

Our friends up the road would see thinngs differently.

Plus he'd mostly played at lower league level in Scotland so it’s not like he'd have had millions in the bank.

shows how well thought of he was here that I've seen nothing but pretty much everyone being chuffed for him and fully understanding of the reasons he wanted to leave

fingers crossed he can string a run of games together without another setback as the lad is absolute quality

Totally agree however I think it is fair to say that we should feel that way given where SAFC currently are as a club.Dare I say that some may be a little less enthused for Ross if we were in the lower reaches of the Championship ourselves and likely to face a full fit and firing Lochness Drohgba

The lad was on league one wages here, id imagine if we could have matched the wages offered by soton he'd have prefered to stay. Iirc a lot of the papers were saying he was about to sign a new deal then he got the injury. I doubt we've have kept the huge offer to break our structure on the table for a player who was expected to be out for over a year.
