Your three to go down right now.

Couple weeks back I thought brentford were dead certs to go down but they've picked up a respectable 4 points from chelsea and man united . . Still too early to read into the table for me

West Ham
Wolves
Burnley

West ham remind me a lot of us when we went down. Completely lack of direction or plan and basically just appointing managers who are available snd hoping for the best.

We stopped up a few years doing that as well tbf.
It was always going to catch up with us.
West ham have done better than staying up lately. Their problem is Brady and Sullivan don’t have a plan, I’m not even sure what their objective is for West Ham. The stadium is an absolute disaster for them and there’s no continuity in the managers they appoint or the players they sign.

Three strong newly promoted teams really is bad news for them.

100% agree.
Owners are the biggest issue. Doesn’t appear to be any direction.
I think this time they may have gotten lucky. Forest making Nuno available enabled them to punt Potter with a capable replacement walking straight in.

TalkSPORT just had whatever betting expert they usually have on and we are still 4th favourites to go down
Like when Leicester won the title. they were still among the favourites to go down until about December. People hate changing their minds cos it means they were wrong.

(Not that we're gonna win the title.)

At face value it looks like a decent move foe them, and let’s face it Nuno can’t do any worse than potter.

But I do wonder if the malaise has set in a bit like it had here when Moyes took over.
Apart from anything else have they got the quality? They don’t have a good enough keeper and can’t defend set pieces.

January is a long way away so he’s going to need a new manager bounce. Quick results!

There's no way I can wipe away 50 years of doubts and disappointments in the space of 6 games.
Haha fair enough mate. I just can't see this squad of players not competing and giving a 100% in every game and the new signings look like they have plenty of quality about them. It will interesting to see how they come on once they have 15 to 20 games together.

last 8 seasons, this is what you needed to stay up:

17/18 - 34 points
18/19 - 35 points
19/20 - 35 points
20/21 - 29 points
21/22 - 36 points
22/23 - 35 points
23/24 - 27 points
24/25 - 26 points

we've got 11 after 6 games.
need 25 from the next 32 games

piss easy this man
It's around mid 30s usually though I think it's a bit misleading to look at the 18th position points for the last couple of seasons due to them being the 3 promoted teams having shit seasons.

To stay up we need to better one of the 'established' PL teams who finished in 17th so we take their place in 17th and we stay up. Assuming we had better GD, we'd have needed 32 points in 2023/24 to beat Forest and 38 last season for Spurs.

We've certainly done well to get 11 on the board and it would great to be nearer 20 points after the next 6 games and be halfway for points after a 3rd of the season.

40 is the magic number , we get that and we are guaranteed to stay up

We've played 15% of the season , and have 27% of the required points.

That's why we are so happy. Keep that second number higher than the first number , and we'll be sound

Was hoping for a low points tally this season/with three cut adrift early
Not sure that will happen
wolves /west ham continuing to struggle would obv be v good for us
Everton win tonight would be a start

We won't be near there mate. Grealish, Ndiaye, Gana, Branthwaite (when he returns), Tarkowski, Pickford.

We have some weak points for sure but too many very good and reliable players there. Beto is shit but he'll score goals over the course of a season as well.

Wolves, Burnley and Forest would be my 3 at the moment
I really rate your players directly behind the striker. I would imagine you'll be needing that Barry to come good up top as every time I've watched Beto he's looked shite.

I think Burnley, Wolves and then 1 of about 10 teams to take 18th spot. Hopefully Leeds. :)
