Thought the benches were supposed to push down / drop into the bridge so on a match day totally clear. Loads complaining when open for the rugby about the benches being a hazard. Seems odd having a wood finish if that's the case.Logon or register to see this image

More work going on this morning. Noticed a lot of the benches have now been updated with a wood finish.

Think the automated sinking of the benches on matchdays were part of the same plans as the monorail which were all put on hold unfortunatelyThought the benches were supposed to push down / drop into the bridge so on a match day totally clear. It was mentioned on here. For big events the benches could be pushed level with the deck to allow unobstructed access. Not talking science fiction to do that and was complaints about them after the rugby about them being a hazard.first time ive heard that and it sounds a bit far fetched
The underwater monorail is already in use but only for VIPs.Think the automated sinking of the benches on matchdays were part of the same plans as the monorail which were all put on hold unfortunately![]()
So were traffic lights, and gun turrets. It was mentioned on here. For big events the benches could be pushed level with the deck to allow unobstructed access. Not talking science fiction to do that and was complaints about them after the rugby about them being a hazard.
Right smart arse, what do you think will happen first home game open, thousands walking across and someone goes arse over tit on one of the benches, unless you have someone directing people around them as they did for the rugby event.Think the automated sinking of the benches on matchdays were part of the same plans as the monorail which were all put on hold unfortunately![]()
Could have someone something around club legends, bit like the Hollywood star paving stones but past players hall of fame with stats etcOr Red Tarmac.
It's a bridge to the SOL so you would have thought a Red and White walkway would have been high on the agenda.
If it was a cost issue they should have crowdfunded, I would have put a couple of quid in to pay for Red Tarmac.
Sometimes the fine details make a big difference.
lighten up man - have a word with yourself about benches that sink into the bridgeRight smart arse, what do you think will happen first home game open, thousands walking across and someone goes arse over tit on one of the benches, unless you have someone directing people around them as they did for the rugby event.
I heard the benches were staying where they are and the bridge is raised around them so making the whole walkway flat.
It was somebody taking the piss.It was mentioned on here. For big events the benches could be pushed level with the deck to allow unobstructed access. Not talking science fiction to do that and was complaints about them after the rugby about them being a hazard.
Think they were more of a hazard for the rugby cos they werent finished so less obvious but now with wooden finish and obvious as benches most right minded people will be able to walk past accordingly. If someone goes arse over tit not noticing a bench thats called natural selection maybe they will trip and fall over the sideRight smart arse, what do you think will happen first home game open, thousands walking across and someone goes arse over tit on one of the benches, unless you have someone directing people around them as they did for the rugby event.
