Yorkshire v Durham : CC September 24

If Hampshire don't get to 250 we get max bowling points and both games end in a draw.

We get relegated with the same amount of points!!!
I don’t think Hampshire Surrey is ending in a draw. They are just about halfway through by lunch on day two and the weather is set fair. But it’s a great last one for permutations.

I’m remembering a last match battle between these two from perhaps as much as 30 years ago where we ended up half a point apart and whichever of us was lower stayed up by half a point ahead of Nottinghamshire. I’ve been trying to google it without success. Am I having a senior moment, was it a dream, or does anyone else remember that as well?

So unlucky Raine in that spell a couple of very good LBW shouts not given. I cannot understand why we have short leg so deep a normal position and regulation catch off Lyth.

Rest of the bowling toothless once again Potts bowled the odd good ball. But as lots of people myself included he’s been a shadow of his usual self.

Blows my mind Hampshire draft in a quality test spinner who’s also made 2 half centuries we draft in a cheap spinner who’s been playing club cricket for 3 years says everything really.

They are currently playing the extra 30 mins in Southampton.

Hampshire 248/9 after 79 overs leading by 101. Washington Sundar 56*

2006-We got maximum batting points to stay up by 1/2 pt iirc

Hampshire all out for 248 so they’ve missed out on a batting point there. Lead of 101.

Hopefully Surrey go big second innings.
Irrelevant since we missed out on a third batting point.

We'd be relegated on the same points if somehow both games end in a draw and we got max bowling points.

But the second part fingers crossed as we need Surrey to win.

Essex might dragged into this if Durham get 3 bowling points and a draw, Hampshire win or draw, and Essex lose with no batting points.

It's a road at Chemlsford it seems

Think the fat lad is singing for us as we really need to make more inroads than we are currently.

Surrey our last hope as we ain't winning this.

Third time Agarwal has had the physio on. Umpires should force him to retire hurt because this is a total farce.

If we don’t sign 3 decent bowlers in the summer and not people with a first class average of 40 as the dross North keeps bringing in.

We won’t even compete next season utter garbage like Conners, Drissell and this club spinner while letting a better young bowler leave the county.

He’s incompetent the only thing seems to be for recent signings are they cheap!
Sadly with the bowlers we've got now we'll struggle to take 20 wickets in a match next season as well when we're back in Div 2.
Worst crop of bowlers we have had sadly mate.

The escape routes are now all but closed unless Essex are skittled, even then Im not certain we could even get the 3 bowling points we need with this attack.Seems an inevitability that we are going for yet another 500 plus here. Hope Im wrong, our bowling options have been Raine, an under par Potts and absolutely nowt else for the whole of the season and thats shocking.

Raine as usual has done most of the heavy lifting this season. Potts has not had a good season by his own high standards. Carse has virtually been out all season due to being an England regular.

After that we have young lads like Minto and Hogg who are capable but still learning. Killeen was showing good promise but was offered a derisory contract and decided to move on.

Then there are new signings like Bailey and Aldridge. I felt it was.too early to put him in any first XI. Aldridge presumably will play red ball cricket so it's a wait-and-see in his case.

Not looking forward to next season at all.
