Durham v Worcestershire : CC September 15

Z
He didn't get over 26 batting at 3 this season. I'd argue that's more relevant than his performances 2 seasons ago. McKinney and Gay have centuries at #3 this season.

Maybe if he forgot about bowling his batting performances would warrant batting there.
No,he's 32 years old and should be at his peak. Averaging 37+ over 4 years demonstrates his pedigree.

Are you his dad?

Gay averaged 43 over the last four seasons and he's only 25.

Bedders and Lees have averaged like 50+ over the same period.

I dont doubt he's a good player based on his white ball performances and 150 but he hasn't earned being first pick at 3.

That 150 should have an asterisk. Not proper bowling.

I didn't claim he had, I'm simply stating statistics which indicate that he's a proven number 3. As to him being my son -DASBSQ

3 seasons in Div 2 where he's mainly cashed in and scored his tons in Kookaburra games in the last 2 seasons.

As you say he's 25 and plenty of time to improve his consistency.

But as @Parkside says Rhodes a much more proven number 3.

All somewhat moot as we need to stay up so who cares really who bats where. Whoever is in the XI I hope performs.

Agree. Bedders averaged even less than Rhodes this season. Both uncharacteristically low. It happens.
Words batted 2 full days so as not to exert their bowlers before their 1Day final. D'Policies bowled 1 ball, turned his ankle and is ruled out of the game.
Worcs not Words and D'Oliviera not D'Policies
