Durham v Worcestershire : CC September 15

So the most likely scenario is we get a draw and Somerset beat hants, in which case we could get away with not having to beat Yorkshire in the last match.
But if hants win their last match we'll have to win ours.

This team doesn't look like they have a win in them so, touch wood and Somerset beats hants.

One of the most abject days cricket from a Durham side ever... against a relegated team whose only aim is to keep their bowlers rested for the weekend final, We cant even get on the pitch to get the batting points we so badly need. A spinner who has bowled 44 overs for one bloody wicket at 200 is taking the new ball when every over we can bat matters. Nearly 170 overs and still we cant get them out. Heads should roll for this whole pathetic shambles.

If Surrey beat Notts tomorrow, will a draw v Hants pretty much clinch the title for them?

Coventry v Bristol City 1977 scenario?

Yes, if they beat Notts they’d need 8 points at Hampshire to secure the title.

Getting ahead of myself, but it would be interesting to see what sort of pitch Hampshire prepare if they need to win.

I don’t disagree with any of that, but the role Worcestershire have played in all of this needs mentioning. Personally I think it’s an absolute disgrace to their fellow professionals to have gone on like this. What’s more, since they’ve given up any hope of winning the game, if they truly are trying to protect their bowlers they should let the batsmen and part-timers bowl tomorrow.

Fair pount mateand I dont disagree,.. but we put them in so its up to us to get them out, much like every other county has done easily this season .Im looking at Durham bowling at their 10 and 11 with a spinner who has passed 200 runs taking the new ball and nine men round the boundary. We've lost the plot Im afraid
A really tough watch all day, and yes that was partly down to Worcester but gees Durham .... haway !!
