Durham v Worcestershire : CC September 15

The Ciderbad pitch could be giving us a big helping hand. Hampshire 30/3 after 11 overs in response to 450 declared, all 3 wickets falling to Leach.

Been announced at the ground play will commence at 1:20 pm with tea at 2:30 pm. The ground staff are out now cutting strips on the square and there is absolutely no reason why the game could not have started.

According to the stream next inspection at 12:30 with lunch at 12:40. Thought they would take lunch earlier than that so this doesn't make any sense to me. There again with rain delays very little does.

I’m assuming they’ve acknowledged that it’ll take longer for the clean up than the interval. Plus, getting it out the way during time they know will be ‘dead time’ it allows fewer overs to be lost.

I understand how daft it looks, but I understand it in this instance.
You would assume a 12 lunch with a 12.40 start would be too much common sense

See above, I’m assuming they realise cleanup will take longer anyway. All that happens if they bring lunch forward is they lose more overs.

In other news, Somerset denied Hampshire a third bowling point and have taken four wickets before lunch (all to spin). They’ll feel they have a real chance of pushing for a win there which would MASSIVELY help out cause.

At Hove, Sussex are now 5 down trailing by 60 odd, there’s a good chance of a win either way there if it stays dry, which again helps our cause.
