Forthcoming gigs.

these gigs are just getting too expensive now. i realise the artists don't make money from record sales anymore, but its just taking the piss

Self Esteem at gateshead next week - £50+ general admission
Sunshine Underground at Leeds next July - £61+ standing, and its an outside venue.

i get thats about standard pricing these days, but it just sucks the fun out of it. i'll stick to my random bands in pop recs and the isis for £10

Still bargains to be had, but you need to be prepared to fuck off established bands.

Dave Stewart was £30, which was great value for the nice.

My next two are K’s & Red Rum Club with Brògeal. Think they’re all under £30? Then a few days later, Oasis :(

I've got Warmduscher coming up soon at rescue rooms Nott'm and its a reasonable £25 but then there's booking fees, plus when you get there its £7 a pint and probably an early curfew seeing as in the week.

Not sure that £60 for an all dayer gig with Sunshine Underground, Futureheads, White Lies, Hard Fi and The Twang playing can really be classed as expensive mind.

Couldn't give a shite about Hard Fi or The Twang (not that arsed about White Lies either) and was still fairly happy with that price to see Sunshine Underground and Futureheads.

Fair enough, but they're just support acts to me. It's being billed as a Raise The Alarm 20year anniversary

Fortitude Valley (+ 2 others) are on at Star & Shadow next Friday for £10. FV are great - they supported somebody at Pop Recs and were on at Marrapalooza. Aussie woman with (at least) a couple of Martha in her band. Nice rocking, jangly pop.
