Essex v Durham County Championship 8-11 Sept

I was leaning more towards wanting a Hampshire loss as they have Somerset and Surrey to play compared to Sussex who have Yorkshire and Worcs, but in any event a loss for one of them will be good news for us if we can get a draw here.

I never even thought about that
Gerrin parky

I’m not sure the amount of turn he got is what we want to see knowing they’ve got Harmer and Critchley and will have a sizeable first innings lead.

Which second division county are people most looking forward to visiting next season?
Zero cutting edge flat pitch they are playing for the draw. Toothless bowling we needed strengthening in the summer did not get it.

This Conners is absolutely atrocious. No idea who thought signing him would be a good idea 🤦‍♂️.

He's 26 y.o. and has played 50 1st class games.
"Sam Conners, a willowy seamer capable of bowling long spells, claimed 50 Championship wickets in the summer of 2022 and was rewarded with a call-up to England Lions. As well as career-best first-class figures"

If outgrounds then I'd love a trip to Chesterfield in any format. Keeping fingers crossed Lancashire away will be an outground also as the trip to Blackpool last year was fantastic (cricket ground was nice, town a dump), I'd not complain at Southport or Liverpool though. Obviously Lords for Middlesex may appeal to some people

Bit of a quirk here that one umpire is an ex-Essex player whilst the other is ex-Durham. Seems like it could have been avoided for what is essentially a ‘relegation 48 pointer’.

It was the ex-Essex bloke who turned down the appeal against Westley when he was on single figures.
