Potts has been released from the white ball squad for the Ireland series, they want him to play Championship cricket as he's still in contention for the Ashes squad now Overton has ended his glittering Ashes career, and Woakes is likely to be unfit.
 
Dont think Woody is in contention for this one, and even if he is he'd be on a significant pitch count.
 
Yorkshire and Sussex have brought in decent overseas from India for the last 3 games of the CC, so it will be a bit disappointing if we have gone for Neesham since he's only played 1 red ball game in 2 years.
 
Don’t want Nesham anywhere near the 4 day team he’s a white ball only player. We have struggled for 20 wickets so need to pick the best attack possible.

We 2024 Potts to turn up been a shadow of his usual superb form wickets at 41 in championship this season.
 
I just hope we put up a fight whatever the result.

Its going to be tough playing Essex but I'll be happy if we give as good as we get.

With a 2 man pace attack Potts and Raine with Yusuf,Minto, Killeen and Coughlin unavailable. So back up is Neesham and Connors

Ghafari signs for the remainder of the season and is in contention. The article mentions he has been playing for Richmondshire, is he classed as an overseas?
