Keel Crossing [opened 18.10.25] - compendium thread

They were only introduced about a month ago, but yeah, new parking bays on the road down from B&Q where the double yellows used to be and all the way down past Wildfire. It's £3.50 a day to park there now which isn't too bad. It was getting very busy down there before the new parking restrictions. The Kings Arms started putting all the empty beer kegs outside along the road to stop people parking there.

they were putting them down the side of the pub to allow the staff to get parked and for deliveries to be able to get in. thats fair enough.

but having double yellow lines as far as the eye can see, bar about 6 or 7 parking spaces that you have to pay for, will undoubtedly make things very hard for them down there.

i can see the argument that during the week its totally rammed with workers from the town, but the pub isn't open during them hours. once 5pm comes (or the weekend) , that road isn't anywhere near as busy, and the pub relies on people being able to drive down and park there for an hour or so (or leave the car over night) .

its such a shit decision what the council have down. the old sledgehammer to crack a nut approach

they could have just made the entire road parking bays that are free after 6pm and free on weekends. stops the day time parkers, and doesn't effect the pub

Absolute nonsense. I know people who have been ticketed outside the mosque.
There are often times when there is shocking parking and no tickets but wardens can't be there all the time. People just create a narrative based on their own warped perceptions.
But people will repeat it as fact (or pseudo fact, don't know if true but going to repeat it anyway).
Walk round there tomorrow at 1.11pm and check out all the cars parked illegally and no one to enforce this. An hour later they are gone. Try parking over near Roker Tesco/Franks area 24hrs later and you will have a ticket as you walk away from your car.

Things understandably slowed down on the bridge but you can see where they have dug up the tarmac at one end.
I know it's been discussed a few times on here but not sure if all of the tarmac is coming up. Some of the CGI renders that are up round the town seem to show a mix of tarmac and paving.

The tarmac at either end is coming up for more paving , the rest is staying.
Mid October. Which is frustrating and disappointing but it'll be a fantastic addition once done.
Mid October was always the end date
