Had a great time mate, after what you said about merch I grabbed a VB tee shirt as soon as I got in, queues got a bit crazy after that as well.

Viagra Boys were class and Qotsa two hour set blew me away, thought they might just go through the motions but they were tight as fuck, it was the last night of their European tour so they were buzzing. Funny, the crowd were chanting "Yorkshire, Yorkshire" and Homme thought they were chanting BULLSHIT or DOGSHIT

Good how the three stages and the food stalls were crammed in together like a mini urban festival without all the endless trudging around of the bigger ones.

Tram queues back to town were ok, friendly people, no hint of trouble. Even made it back to spoons near the hotel for a couple before they closed

Great stuff. Yeah it was a really well put together little festival. Would definitely go back (act dependent).

Oh, and I also got to meet them in the pub over the road. Got a nice photo with Buck and shook his had. I was well chuffed as REM are my all time favourite band.

Been to see Therapy? In that there London tonight (Andy Cairns 60th Birthday Bash) supported by a Cockney punk band called Knock Off.
Great gig at 229 Portland Road, canny venue also
 
Saw The Burning Hell last night at Cluny2, first time for me though they've apparently played in the toon on several occasions before (they're Canadian). Really entertaining.

One of the supports was honorary Mackem, Nev Clay. He has an old song called Pearshaped with a verse about a skunk fan getting a tattoo of Andy Cole the day before he was sold to Man Utd. I was delighted to learn that he has already updated it since the transfer window closed and it now features Isak!!
 
Last weekend at Lindisfarne Hawkwind, Waterboys, Terrorvision, the furious 5 porkpie, Utah Saints and the Dutty Moonshine big band. Tickets for next year out now, get yourself along and if you get the chance the Dutty Moonshine band are a good watch. Next up the Stranglers. After 1977 for my 60th.

According my 'North of the Tyne' contact, August 2025 was the first month that no newborn child has been registered with the first name 'Isak' in the Newcastle City Council area for ages.
 
Kaisers and Richard Ashcroft booked early next year. Tempted by Wedding present and inspiral carpets before end of the year but it's not cheap going to see bands now sadly.

I meant to reply to you earlier. FM seemed to be a band that supported everyone for a while so I`ve seen them a few times. I always moaned when they were on yet every time I saw them I really enjoyed them. Steve Overland has a great voice. I saw Brave Rival at the beginning of the year just before the second lead singer left. They decided to carry on with just the one singer now.
