Used to work on a Programme where they set up a recurring "lunch hour" between 12-1 so all staff could have no meetings during that time. Of course, what people then started doing was realising that was the only hour where everyone was free, so started putting in "quick half hours" to "catch up". I ended up deleting the supposed lunch hour as it was a waste of everyone's time.Being in back to back meetings at work and thinking I have 20 minutes to cram in a morning of work before a short dinner break and a walk to another site for a 1pm meeting. Just getting a few emails replied to and then finding someone has sprung an emergency meeting at 12, meaning "sorry Dave, no dinner break".
Grabbing a sandwich quickly to eat in the meeting and sitting wondering why I'm even here. I'm off camera, have no spoken and probably will not before it ends in 10 minutes time.
People who wear too much aftershave. Like they bathe in it or something....
Bloke in the pool yesterday left an aftershave cloud every time he went past me - how much aftershave do you need to wear for it to overpower the senses in a swimming pool full of chlorine?

Now I just decline meetings if it gets too much, or I have other plans.
Annoyingly, a few of the senior managers here just join certain meetings while eating lunch and set an example of it being perfectly acceptable to miss lunch breaks, but I tend to make sure put one in my diary if I see it filling up. I think it sets a bad example, and you finish the day with no mental capacity, sometimes struggling to remember what the first meeting was.Used to work on a Programme where they set up a recurring "lunch hour" between 12-1 so all staff could have no meetings during that time. I've worked from home for about 6 years now. I have a dedicated space in my house that I can close the door on at the end of the day. That definitely helps. I swim at the start of my day so that also helps. Sometimes I just go and sit in the garden for 10 mins to decompress. Onsite we are on a city street with nowhere to go to eat but in the office, so I'm less protective. But at home I have a complete shut off and go to do something else. I find if I have something to eat while reading or watching the telly then do a 15 minute guitar or singing session, I come back after the hour break really awake and alert. If I just work through, by 3pm I'm struggling.
Similar here. I built an office in the garden. We do use it as a general family room and have a dart board up, but I never sit at the desk in the corner unless I'm working. In the winter I'll probably be at my desk in the house which is annoying. Heating the office when it is 7 degrees or more outside is not too bad, but when it drop below that, it gets quite expensive.I've worked from home for about 6 years now. i'm guilty of that. apologiesI'm going to say it again: there is a f***ing mute button on the f***ing remote, so if you want to temporarily turn off the f***ing sound on the f***ing telly, use that instead of turning the f***ing volume controls down from 35 to f***ing zero
Guilty of this. Have just tried using the mute button and it feels wrong. Think I’ll try and recondition my brain to make this work.I'm going to say it again: there is a f***ing mute button on the f***ing remote, so if you want to temporarily turn off the f***ing sound on the f***ing telly, use that instead of turning the f***ing volume controls down from 35 to f***ing zero

Well for once I am not annoying the hell out of you. Similarly, we find that for most streaming apps the volume that works the best is 32.I'm going to say it again: there is a f***ing mute button on the f***ing remote, so if you want to temporarily turn off the f***ing sound on the f***ing telly, use that instead of turning the f***ing volume controls down from 35 to f***ing zero
I tried Twitter once, and did sign up to a few things to follow but despite my attempts to filter it all out, I was finding a stream full of celeb gossip. I couldn't be arsed with it.I find it mildly annoying that there seem to be loads and loads of stories all the time on my news apps and stuff, about Saturday Night Live.
I mean,I understand that it’s a topical US comedy programme featuring the type of comedians that I find annoying even when I do know who the fuck they are.
The bits I’ve seen if it are… not even mildly amusing with references that a uk audience wouldn’t always understand (or is that just me).
But there are stories all over about people on there, items that have been broadcast and even adverts on tv that feature ‘stars’ from ‘SNL’ that I’ve never heard of even after they are named and I’ve googled them.
Never got the appeal of SNL. Always thought The Daily Show, last week tonight, the late show etc were much funnier.I find it mildly annoying that there seem to be loads and loads of stories all the time on my news apps and stuff, about Saturday Night Live.
