Broken striker market

This myth that it's impossible to get a striker has to stop.

Below deck is a list of strikers me and my associates in the amateur scouting hobby rate, who have moved clubs this season. I think we could have been serious contenders to sign any of them had we tried.

Kostoulas to Brighton - 29m
Guessand to Astro Villa - 30m
Amoura to Wolfsburg - 27m
Thierno Barry to Everton - 27m
Larsen to Wolves - 23m
Broja to Burnley - 20m
Ivanovic to Benfica - 18m
Jesus (not Christ) to Nottingham - 10m
kvistgaarden to Norwich - 7m
Ferguson to Roma - 3m LTB
Burkhardt to Frankfurt - 20m
Hollarbach(girl) to Mainz - 10m
Piccoli to Cagliari - 10m

It's criminal if they don't buy a striker and they can't say there was none available or they're too expensive, when loads of other clubs have signed one.
Guessand - more of an inside forward and struggles as a striker

Larsen - wasn’t a proven striker when the obligation to buy was signed

Barry - Everton want another striker as they’ve now realised he’s too raw

Broja - not a proven striker of any decent standard

The rest I’m not sure but I bet they don’t tick the proven striker box most want

Really hope Isak doesn’t go now and just stinks up the place leaving then screwed on the pitch and through PSR after this latest inflated signing

He's either going or he stays and surely puts the mags on the thin line of PSR. That being said as much as they moan PSR is holding them back I don't see how they're doing it. They'll be around ÂŁ700m spent on players since the takeover, surely?

If he’s as good as they’re saying he is, why was he like 7th choice from nowhere. Seems like a gamble. See how it goes. I’ve never ever heard of him.

Ferguson has 1 goal in about the last 2 years and is constantly injured.

Kvistgaarden has played 3 games for Norwich (0 goals) and aside from that, hasn't played outside of Denmark.

Hollarbach has played 2 full seasons at Bundesliga and scored a combined 13 goals.

In his last 8 Serie A seasons, Piccoli has had 1 season in which he has scored more than 5 goals.

I got bored after that, but they certainly don't come anywhere close to ticking any sort of proven box.

Insane price. Good player from what I saw of the under 21s but not the finished article. They will have money to burn after Isak goes so Wissa will probably turn up too.

He’s gone before deadline, if just for PSR reasons alone.
They will want to clear the decks and get rid of the stench going forward
6 foot 6... will do well their at set piece fc
I remember when Brown played for us ( when not crocked ) he dealt with Crouch with relative ease despite conceding 5 or more inches ( ooh err missus) in height

We beat Aston Villa u21s 8-1 in the football league trophy in 2020 with Wyke, Danny Graham and Aiden O’Brien getting 4 goals between them

Being 6ft+ with the body of an overgrown man and playing versus kids is a far cry from scoring regularly in the best league in the world

The kid may turn out to be good but I wouldn’t place too much credence on him scoring a hat trick vs Slovenia in the under 21s euros group stages.
Cresswell had him in his pocket in the final. I’ve only seen him a couple of times, granted, once against Portugal in the Nations League semi final for the full team as well and he looked a hard worker but just a gangly fucker with zero goal threat to me.

Oh shit, I actually think he's got the potential to be class.
He does. But equally he's 23 and a half year old, and only really scored impressively in the u21s. He's worth buying but at that price? Mental to think they might lose Isak and get 60m and have him as a risk. He's huge compared to most u21 lads. Won't be so easy to bully people in adult football

24 league goals in 110 senior appearances with 10 of them being in the German third division.
The season before last, he got 2 in 30 for Werder Bremen.

Stuttgart have had their pants down but unfortunately it's the market for strikers these days. Genuinely don't see why they didn't go for Taremi

Sorry but you don't have a single iota what you're talking about. Do you think I can't look at their stats? It's the easiest thing in the world, that's not how players are scouted and assessed. No, these players have been watched repeatedly by me and/or other hobbyist scouts I know.

It has been determined by people with solid track records that these players are the business, we've looked at their physical attributes, their technical ability, their football IQ, and researched their character traits to the extent of which that is possible.

Of course you got bored, because it is not your business to determine if they are good or bad players, you stick with watching SAFC and the occasional neutral game, leave the scouting to the amateur scouts who do this for a hobby.

We need Ballard fit and playing in that game i feel. Cresswell dealt with him in the u21 tournament and ballard is good enough to do a similar job

That Woltemade deal there is why the striker market is so fucked. He’s scored 12 goals in the Bundesliga and is going for £60.5m

He’s a good player like but my god.

This is why the club can’t go out and “buy a 15-20 goal proven striker”
As I've been saying on here for literally years, the striker market is always overpriced. Hunting for bargains is harder than any other position. Nothing changes other than the price.
